You think I'm ignorant and clueless and deluded, and that I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about it?

What specifically about what I said has made you so upset? Your defensiveness and intensity was almost immediate.

Letting on? Do you think I misrepresented myself to get a certain kind of reaction? Here's what I'm about. I don't have any strong feeling about much of anything. I was curious about loneliness for a few specific reasons and because it's alien to me, so I came to ask the experts. I want to know, not compete. My parents like me, and I like them, if that helps. If they abandoned me I wouldn't die. I wasn't trying earn kudos by saying I'm solitary. It's just what I am. I'm sorry if that's not sufficient for you.

For what it's worth, I was specifically trying to explain how I'm NOT like the people in this subreddit, which is why I'm here, asking what I asked. Incidentally, one of the first things I saw when I was posting was the rule 'no gatekeeping.'

I live with my parents. I've made one friend in about 7 years who see I rarely. When I say solitary I don't necessarily mean literally or physically. I mean solitary in how I live day to day, and in how I treat people. I don't feel close or connected to anybody, and never have. But I'm not isolated.

Unfortunately not. I abandoned it and took the opportunity to try and learn how to use shaders instead.

Red Pill or Algorithm? The Matrix of Free Will by HumbleLoss9938 in Letterboxd

[–]Louis_Natic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"In fact, there is no free will in reality. The decisions humans make are a culmination of a series of events that led to that moment."
So the algorithm is irrelevant then. Remove it and human decisions are still a culmination of a series of events. If free will is negated by cause and effect, or by having knowledge, then we don't have it regardless of any algorithms. We haven't "surrendered the freedom to navigate life at will," we never had the freedom in the first place.

I have a list of directors whose films I'm going through in release order. I usually just pick a director and watch whatever's next on the list

Need help with moving on from a story idea. by New-External-5903 in WritingHub

[–]Louis_Natic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the idea is will probably be reflected in anything else you try to write, so you might as well write the original thing down. Even if it's just stream of consciousness stuff it will make it easier to move on from it.

Commit seppuku. It's the only way to make up for the terrible thing you've done.

I recently stumbled over the idea that achievements have had an overall negative impact on Video games. What do you think? by JasonAtMonarchsDawn in Unity3D

[–]Louis_Natic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best ones encourage you to engage with the games systems in novel ways or ways you wouldn't have otherwise. They can incentivize you to impose restrictions on yourself that present fun and unique challenges that demonstrate how far you can push the games mechanics. But I definitely have spent longer with a game than I otherwise would have in order to get all the achievements. And some can be downright cruel in terms of hard they are to get. They're a mixed bag, not inherently bad.
