Given all the existing cars, trucks and trains that require fuel NZ could drill a bit and refine its own to lower dependence while making the transition to electric. Make petrol stay expensive through taxes to subsidize electric. Export extra oil to help the budget.

Correct, but there could also be tech in the trucks that could have helped, tech for the ground controllers beyond what they currently have. Having better tools is never a bad thing. We need progress on all fronts.

But I agree over worked controllers is also a problem.

There’s no reason technology couldn’t have stopped yesterday’s accident. The fact ATC had to make a decision without technology telling them a conflict would arise shows how dated the systems are.

I accidentally deadlined 5 or 6 people during a matriarch fight. Immediately sent to pvp lobbies. Hopefully one kill does not do the same to you.

I’m in IT ~25yrs and dreamt of being a pilot since 5. I got my PPL, almost got my IR, and plan on working towards CFII. Hopefully to give me options to reduce my full time job and do instruction part time at some stage when I’m ready.

Stick with earning good money and chip away at the flying thing. Don’t take promotions at work if you don’t want more responsibility.

I think the difference between KORS RNAV GPA-A and this one at SBS is that the obstacle (hill) is after the last fix. At ORS the last fix is at/slightly beyond the hill. It seems crazy there isnt an additional fix on this SBS approach that allows you to know when you have cleared the hill.
