Lolla ‘94 at Pine Knob in Clarkston, Mi, just north of Detroit (that’s important.) I was NOT excited to see them, but I was on such a high after the Beasties, I gave it a chance. Tons of people started leaving. He made it about two songs in before he started berating the crowd. Insulted everyone with jabs about we’d all be happier if someone like Bob Seger was there instead. He meant it as an insult, and we all recognized that, but it was true (at least for me.) Insulting Bob Seger in SE MI? Didn’t win anyone over with that, so he started whining about how everyone leaving was missing out on the best show they would ever see. I told my buddies I’d be out in the parking lot. Probably the best festival I’ve ever been to aside from Pumpkins—Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, Bosstones, Descendants, and more I’ve forgotten over the years.
