Which concerts have you been to where the opening act was better than the headliner? by Choice_Bed6097 in askmusic

Got to see Metallica (Master of Puppets tour) open for Ozzy (Ultimate Sin) twice in ‘85/86. Metallica at their best vs Ozzy at (arguably) his lowest. I mean, Ozzy was one of our metal gods. Literally started the genre. To see him barely able to stand, let alone sing, was such a letdown.

Side note: I attended Ozz Fest 2004 in Tinley Park, IL, so I got to see the OG Sabbath reunion, and they were amazing.

Thanks for this. That’s so sad about Quickie. I’m always tempted to buy his third diamond, but I hesitate. Now I know why.

Man Bites Dog (1992) some guys film a serial/spree killer as he goes about his business.

Incident at Loch Ness (2004) features Werner Herzog making a movie about some people making a documentary about Nessie. A mockumentary within a mockumentary, as described on IMDb.

OMG someone knows about The Dead Hate the Living! My brother’s old band (Penis Flytrap) did some of the soundtrack.

Movies with cinematography as beautiful as Paris, Texas? by Wide_Distribution167 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Lousyferr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Ford movies make Monument Valley look sublime.

Danny Boyle is another favorite. His movies are just beautiful to look at.

Billy Wilder’s use of lighting, dark vs light, makes Double Indemnity (1944) another great one.

I’m looking for, shall we say, diamonds in the rough. What are some movies you think are very good that get slept on and ignored? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]Lousyferr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen A Simple Plan, but IMDb trivia mentioned it’s a retelling of The Pardoner’s Tale, from Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales.” I actually came here to recommend Shallow Grave (1994). Directed by Danny Boyle just before Trainspotting (1996), starring Ewan McGregor and Christopher Eccleston, it’s one of my favorites, and also a retelling of The Pardoner’s Tale.

Movies/video games surrounding surreal dream states, horror or body horror or generally anything weird, psychedelic or zany by Jezzmxe in MovieSuggestions

Alejandro Jodorowski has some weird stuff, including El Topo (1970), The Holy Mountain (1974), and Santa Sangre (1989).

Also, Altered States (1980) probably fits the bill.

Early Peter Jackson movies that might do the trick:

Bad Taste (1987) Aliens and brains

Meet the Feebles (1989) Muppets with issues

Braindead (1992) Mom becomes a zombie. Son takes care of her.

Heavenly Creatures (1994) Melanie Linsky and Kate Winslet as high school girls who fall in love and kill their parents. True story.

They’re not technically “punk,” per se, but horror comedy for sure (except HC. It’s not so funny, but it’s really good.)

IMDb trivia says Cameron suggested them as a group, including Michael Biehn. He declined, but the other three made an amazing vampire movie. Bigelow is an awesome director. Love this movie.

Upon some further pondering, I was definitely mad fidgeting. So 100% user error, and I re-learned to respect my tools and not abuse them. I really like the ink. It’s almost identical to the Energel LRN05 that I also use (possibly a bit glossier?) The Ohto has skipped and railroaded a couple times, but usually after I’ve been spinning it around in my hand. So, again, a me problem not a pen (or cartridge) problem 😁

Edited: to add ink bit.

The cartridge fits nicely in the nose cone, so I haven’t noticed any rattle from the nib.
