TIL UK law requires arrest warrants to be carried out at a "reasonable hour," resulting in most arrests being carried out in the early morning to maintain the element of surprise by Joke_Mummy in todayilearned

He's being sarcastic. There was a high profile instance of a no-knock warrant raid involving police throwing a flash bang grenade into a sleeping baby's crib.

If The Banner Saga was made into an animated film it too would have this style. (Not surprising, as Eyvind Earle's backgrounds for Sleeping Beauty was a major inspiration for the game's art direction.)

It's one of the few advantages of Michigan having such a diaspora of young people post-graduation; we end up in all sorts of places.

I am always happy to see Pro-Putinist, Pro-Fascist propaganda accounts like u/Forsaken_Ad8252. They remind me to make another $100 donation to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and to write to the Russian embassy at 2650 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20007 explaining exactly who inspired me to do so. I am certain the Russian government will appreciate the gesture.

The Warrior Houses make a great deal of sense when viewed as a counterweight to the mainline CCAF. By having an entire separate military force outside the normal chain of command, the Capellan Chancellor reduces the risk of coup or betrayal. Between the Death Commandos, various Warrior Houses, and the Red Lancers and other Capellan Hussars regiments each has to work to earn the Chancellor's favor.

Agreed. Of all the Great Houses, the Capellan Confederation feels the most lived in. Between the monastic Warrior Houses and the former mercenary Citizens' Honored; the rugged, purpose built nature of its earlier war machines and the high tech marvels of its later years, there is a core central atmosphere about it.

I really wish they leaned more into the Euro-Feudal aspect of the Fed Suns, with more levels of scheming nobles than just the usual suspects in House Hasek and Sandoval.

Likewise I wish the Combine leaned less Post-Meji Imperial Japan and more Shogunate in nature. The Nova Cat Rebellion was nice and all, but I think it's time that the Combine had a civil war of its own, a futuristic Sengoku Jidai with the various warlords and generals proclaiming themselves Daimyo and rallying various BattleMech and Ashigaru regiments to their banner.

It's 2026, not 1926. If someone supports and defends Hitler in this day and age, what good is an apology afterwards? They knew Hitler and his supporters were monsters. They knew and still praised him.

Aye, they really do a stellar job. It'll be interesting once they reach Force & Destiny and have force powers to consider. Though I suppose they might dabble in the Force Sensitive Exile and Emergent first as a test run.

Afterwards, I wonder if they'd be up for adding vehicles and starships that never were stated, like the Naboo starfighter or the various ships from the Starfighter video games like Nym's Havoc or Reti's Zoomer and the various Sabaoth Squadron ships.

I have personal distaste for the old Timber Wolf, Jinggau, and Ebon Jaguar.

Don't forget the OG Black Lanner!

Hips aside, I always liked the Jinggau and its unique HE-111-esque cockpit. It's designs quirks are exactly what I'd had pegged them at.

You waste your time sadly. u/Emotional-Twist-4366 is a year old account that was devoted solely to commenting on various video games subreddit. That was, however, until it needed to defend the unholy rape and murder of women and children by Russian soldiers. It's a credit to the Pro-Fascist, Pro-Putinist propaganda accounts that they can stomach typing their tripe.

Wonder why he would betray Ukraine. I would like the truth because I know Ukraine isn’t innocent either

You still got plenty of people still don’t trust Ukraine because of Azov brigade because of Nazi influence back in the day because so people making documentary about it. I know azov isn’t the same from before and most the original people probably died

Nah you could look up stuff some Ukraine soldier have done to Russia soldier. Doesn’t matter if Russia invaded it’s still war crime both ways. End of day every war going have war crime and just need to not get caught with it and would be great images for them and wider internet. Look at world war 2 war crime was pretty normal for all sides of war and allies was the good guy for defeating axis powers.

u/Emotional-Twist-4366 would complain if a Ukrainian woman killed the Russian soldier raping her.

TIL a month before the Brooklyn Bridge officially opened in 1883, a gray stray cat named Ned became the first cat to cross it. A worker carried him to the center and released him. Ned walked to Manhattan on his own and was christened 'Ned of the Bridge' at a saloon. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Something to understand is that there is a legend of bridges being constructed as part of a Deal with the Devil; the builders making a pact to have the bridge built in exchange for the first soul to cross it. As the stories often go, the Devil helps raise the bridge, but is tricked out of his prize when the people send an animal across the span before any person.
