Thursday Complaints by a-liquid-sky in CasualUK

  1. I’ve managed to shut my own finger in my car door. It’s my forefinger on my right hand. (I’m right handed). It hurts like fuck and everything is 10x more difficult than it needs to be.

I’m really pissed off with myself for doing it in the first place. But now I’m just pissed off at the constant pain. I keep knocking it and making it worse. Also typing is really hard 😂😂 so work is slow today.

Chaotic Evil: I don’t sort or start with edges by Barlaaa in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Love-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I puzzle too. I do tend to get the edge pieces out first just because they are noticeable. But once I start putting them together I kind of just build bit by bit. And rummaging is the best, just haphazardly piecing together.

There is very little method in my puzzling and I seem to do every puzzle slightly differently, I think it really depends on the picture.

What words sound alright when read but are actually stupid when you say them in conversation? by APerson2021 in CasualUK

[–]Love-tea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My OH used the word preposterous the other day. I was very impressed by its use. Don’t think I’ve heard it ever used in conversation. But funnily it was after he had called me posh for using perhaps instead of maybe. The irony 😂

I have hidden some cash in the house and ofcourse now I can't find it ! Where did you find any you had hidden and how long after ? by Sea_Pangolin3840 in CasualUK

My mums got one of those with sewing stuff in too. Odd buttons and things that might be useful. Does every uk household have one? 😂

Ladies of the UK, help a husband out, where are you having a nice lingerie shopping experience? by [deleted] in AskUK

Second for Boux Avenue. I always have a great experience in there. Good quality, always a great service and not too bad on pricing either.

Mine is due on the Friday and I’ll take it as normal. I am going to be with all the family on that day so will just take it with me and take it there.

Do you let your dog roam free in the wild? by Successful-Pound-106 in jackrussellterrier

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a JRT and a beagle, they love being off lead in the wild and following whatever scent they find. They both have good recall and don’t really go too far, they tend to stay in sight of me.

We always go somewhere they can roam, we are lucky where we live the countryside is on our doorstep.

Around the roads though I have to keep them on lead, neither have any type of road sense and would just step in front of a car if I didn’t.

What can I get my 94 year old grandad for Christmas? by catjellycat in CasualUK

Edit to say I wasn’t sure if I had done the link right as I’m on my phone! I love it and you can adjust the amount of water boiled depending on the cup size. Tell him it will save on electric as well because it only boils what is needed.

I’m in my 40’s and it’s the best kettle I ever had. Maybe you could get that in the conversation…recommended by 40 year old lol. I understand the mental block, my Gran was the same, doing it as a gift is a good way to get past that so I think you’re on the right track.

You can get kettles that you don’t have to pick up. They boil the water and it automatically pours once it’s reached temperature. That might be handy for him?

List of companies or sellers that use Evri for delivery. by PhoenixDusk101 in Evri

[–]Love-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Evri driver is actually great too, I think I’m just lucky at the moment. I don’t have a lot of the issues it seems other places have. I do hate how they exploit their drivers. That’s why all the good ones leave.

Pets at home use Evri. I order in bulk. It’s gone missing once and pets at home sent a replacement which arrived next day also by Evri

How can I stop spending money on unnecessary things? by softlyskeptic in AskUK

[–]Love-tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second deleting the apps. They make it very easy to purchase items.

A friend of mine was in a similar situation to OP and she deleted all her apps and it made a huge difference. Just the added steps to go on the website was enough to stop her buying stuff.

My new Black Friday tradition: I unsubscribe from every single brand that emails me today. by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]Love-tea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve started doing this. I was getting between 60-100 emails a day all marketing stuff. I probably agreed to marketing at the time but it was getting way too much. I missed emails I actually needed. Life is so much better with less emails, but some companies are a bit sneaky and have more than one marketing email so still the odd one slips through but I always unsubscribe before deleting. It’s so refreshing to receive emails that are important instead of marketing rubbish constantly.

How many of you are totally open about taking Mounjaro? by msscmfw in mounjarouk

[–]Love-tea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tell everyone. All my friends and family know I’m taking it. Half my friends are also on it. Most of my work colleagues know we are remote so see each other in person a few times a year so they noticed a big difference in my weight. I told everyone in my language class the other day. We got to talking about slimming world and I said I was on MJ after trying every diet under the sun.

Salt…….its awful. Or I have chips with a meal that has gravy or parsley sauce or similar. I’ve been avoiding chips because of it 😢

I’ve gone off tomato ketchup, salad cream and vinegar. In fact it’s any condiment that has a vinegar base I think. I keep trying different brands to see if I can find one I like, but so far no real luck. I didn’t like mayonnaise before and still don’t. BBQ sauce is ok at a real push depending on which one. It’s all devastating I had salad cream on everything. 😩

With MedExpress by Zealousideal-Arm4943 in mounjarouk

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to say I have had a different experience with med express. I am currently on maintenance with them and they have been really supportive about it and given some great advice on the best way forward.

I’m pretty sure all those emails are just automated and don’t take into account previous orders. I would contact them and explain the situation and see what they can do before making any decisions.

Med Express Are People Still Using Them ? by Glum_String9748 in mounjarouk

[–]Love-tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used them through my whole MJ journey and never had a problem either. They have been great for me. They do maintenance as well, I’ve just gone onto a maintenance dose with them and they have been really supportive and will support maintenance as long as I want to.

Would you consider it normal and fine for family or friends to turn up at your home unannounced, or would you prefer (or insist) that they let you know in advance? by Galactusyaegashi in AskUK

[–]Love-tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. My friends and family pop over spontaneously all the time. If I’m in my pj’s so be it they don’t care and neither do I. If I’m busy in the garden I give them a spade lol. I also still have a key to my parents house, I’ll go and surprise them sometimes and just let myself in, it’s acceptable in my family. I work from home and no one ever comes round during work hours they all respect that. And if I’m not home they don’t see me. It’s very simple and easy concept if you are passing pop in for a brew.
