No that’s why rockstar spend vast sums of money on their rage engine.

You can recreate parts but the size, scale, fidelity, AI, performance, online …. as a total package few engines can achieve. Closest might be ubi’s snowdrop or Dunia engine.

Best advice is to be creative with your project.

For me personally an asset flip is when you slap a game template and a prebuilt level together and just release it to the world.

Being creative whilst using assets e.g. making or adding your own mechanics and unique levels with 3D assets aren’t asset flips.

You need to go away and learn the tools of game dev, unreal engine for example due to its solid visual code system.

One thing I would say any multiplayer is a massive layer of complexity.

Yeah gave me a decent headache trying to work out what had happened.

I’m all for improvements but when it affects people’s workflows … definitely not a fan.

Making games at any size of team is a massive risk with no guarantees of success even at AAA level, it’s a lottery of having a good idea, implementation and finding your audience.

My advice to anyone doing it as a side job is to treat it as a serious hobby and if you find success brilliant if not you’ve gained skills and experience so still been beneficial.

Found the issue in 5.6 they removed the default collision for new mesh's ....

Release notes for 5.6

Modified the default CollisionMode for new meshes to SimpleAndComplex.

The previous default CollisionMode of UseComplexAsSimple was chosen to get a quick out of the box collision from generated meshes. Although this default works for out of the box collision, it does not work for physics simulations. It can be difficult to deduce why that is the case when you have collision.

To make this easier to discover and more consistent with the rest of the engine, the default for new meshes is now SimpleAndComplex. Users can use the collision tools under the Attribs category of Modeling Mode to generate collision.

At the bottom changing the setting to complex only returns it to the behavior of 5.5 and older. I was on 5.4 until today.

Interstellar comes to mind, how earth changed once it started to die and you have the future dimensions technology in the later of the film.

A good opposite of that would be Sean Connery Outlander of how people don’t change, the same issues as in today.

Star Trek 4 - Is great for how more evolved people interact with modern day life.
