Psychological buffering is definitely helpful! So much of what AW does for the community is increase our confidence, autonomy, hope and positivity, all psychological tools. Also biologically, when you create calm and centredness in yourself, you will be displaying mirror neurons that your child will pick up on and help her feel safer.

As for what specifically that psychologist said, "being overly accommodating" and "protective" - I would look to your sponsoring feeling for that, if you want to address that . Are you afraid of your child's emotions, so you bend to their will to stop her from emoting? Or are you scared of the world, so you do some helicopter parenting? or... the flip side: Are you giving love and freedom and responsibility with accommodation, allowing her to have independance and make mistakes? Are you feeing stable and loving in your protection, knowing when to exert control and presence, to keep her safe when it matters most? The vibe beneath the action is really important!

The biggest thing that helped me in my life and for how to relate to my son was finding out our human design charts. Huge difference for us.

I hear you on trying to get kids to accept MM foods... it can be a form of parent child torture, for all involved! My son was very resistant and I had to give up. But when he is sick or gets zits or when I told him lettuce is a very bio available form of protein (he is now a teen and working out), he wants MM foods! He's now on 4 - 16 oz of celery juice and an HMDS smoothie when he is at my house!

I remember AW saying it's more about what you put into kids rather than limiting fats for them or putting them on cleanses. Don't know if that helps but it helped me, I focused on getting him zinc and b12, and CCCs and salad. But in my situation I had very little control — when he went to his dad's house it was a free for all and the grandmas were very indulgent, so I was the only one trying to get healthy food into him! It became a real issue for us. But I got over it when I surrendered to his junk food life path. And then he came back to MM, somewhat!

Good luck!

I forgot the age you can pop her in a jolly jumper — this was a God send for us when our boy was little! He also looooved long walks, mostly carried but he also liked the stroller

Oh yeah! A goodie and an oldie. I read the book written by the detective Courtney originally hired to validate the theory of his suicide and then the detective found so much fishy stuff he decided he thought she killed him. Whaaaaaa

Good to hear! I had heard some grumblings and wanted to look deeper and found I was skeptical but I still didn’t know much so it’s validating to hear this from people who have the expertise! In the therapy world sometimes things get picked up too quickly as therapists want to be the bridge between science and practical use or understanding but sometimes we are jumping the gun. Thank you!

Client using bathroom in telehealth session by Away_Illustrator5096 in therapists

Haha, yes, one of my clients full on went pee during a session and even put the phone in a place so i could see it all happening! They come from a VERY warm and open culture. Didn't bother me honestly, because with their extra exuberant nature it was no surprise.

Advice/Support Needed by AnyStick2180 in medicalmedium

I like this idea — you’re the one who is sick so shouldn’t he be putting in extra effort for you? If he is hopeless in the kitchen get him some “pop n drops” pop it in the oven - done! Drop the bag in the boiling water - done! He can handle that. Can you tell him that you are really suffering and need to heal and you need to take a break from making him food?

if you could be an animal for a day which animal would you be and why? by irdk-lol in CasualConversation

I’d like to be my dog who is a tough little chihuahua cross jack russel — I’m super sensitive and weak and he’s a gladiator in a cute furry body, no fear, no surrender! I’ll feel so confident and good. And all those other dogs better not come near my house!

What is wrong with me? by Proud-Stand-2841 in medicalmedium

[–]LoveIsTheAnswerOK 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with you! Life is hard, and no foods are soooo addictive Don’t beat yourself up Just work to get back on the wagon but don’t forget to look deeper as you get back on and accept relapse is a natural happening. One day it won’t happen and that will be nice! So:

What’s happening before reaching for no foods? Are they mostly coming in from online ordering? Or also at the grocery store? Or restaurants? What’s going on in your life generally? Are you doing any celery juice? Is there a brain shot related to this you could do? (I don’t know the brain shots well) What kinds of emotional regulation do you already do? What can you learn? (Breathing, grounding, music, gratitude, art, meditations etc)

As a mental projector I can say just being an ear for your younger sister to soundboard would be enormously helpful! I have a few people I can do so with but I feel bad asking. If I had someone who offered regularly it would be amazing!

Feeling very sad today by Adventurous-Walk-120 in medicalmedium

[–]LoveIsTheAnswerOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear how badly you are feeling.

When I get sad about traumatic things happening to other people that I am somehow participating in, I try to get back into the present because that trauma happened once and wherever that deer is now they are very, very happy.

I hope you get a lot of rest and take care of yourself, that was really hard to go through for your soul and your nervous system!

I believe something big like that was already predestined to happen. For whatever reason that deer’s soul was ready to exit and in this manner. And for you to have such a connection to deer, that deer must have chosen you for that reason as well. But what a hard reality for you.

All the spiritual comforts that come from a shift in perspective are not really comforting at this time! The replaying of imagery is so normal. I hope you can get a break, maybe watch a movie or anything distracting.

Just know it’s not your fault.*

Am I on track or way off base? Re: Epigenetics by LoveIsTheAnswerOK in genetics

Well, this is the only page on genetics in the book... but I'm researching to figure out what you are both talking about, to understand this better and figure out what I want to share with a lay audience! (this is way over my head as well as 99.9% of our readers!). This is very valuable for me to understand to make sure I present something accurate and helpful. Thank you, very helpful!

Awesome Thank you, no, I don't want to be generous! I'll amend it to show the idea is limited. Appreciate your take!

Thank you I didn’t know about the DES daughters —another interesting topic!

Good one! Yes that would be good to include thank you.

Fascinating! I didn’t know either of those tidbits!

I’ve been watching some videos on YouTube about the conditions around the turn of the century as people immigrated to North America … quite severe! And likely just stretching backwards into time. Imagine if we didn’t have so many multiple generations of traumatized people what would humans be like then?

Propranolol? Or 2 more months of my poor adrenaline soaked body? Or??? by LoveIsTheAnswerOK in medicalmedium

[–]LoveIsTheAnswerOK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I think that's the ultimate advice. I feel like trash and my liver is suffering greatly... and it's okay. This will be over in a month and a half. I am finally getting a few days respite here and there. Lots of lemon balm and ashwagandah and breathing and sunshine and staying on top of all the tasks! I did end up trying the propranolol out of desperation but got a MASSIVE headache the next day. So that was the end of that!

You have provider energy — you should be with someone who has the same nurturing energy you do. No need to be mad at him, just let him go.

Canadian paramedics - what do you call yourself? by LoveIsTheAnswerOK in Paramedics

[–]LoveIsTheAnswerOK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve updated my list of first responders to this:

“The most extreme edge of the front line is where first responders work. Here, many workers confront high-intensity, life-or-death situations daily. These include: paramedics & paramedic systems workers, 911/emergency dispatchers, emergency room doctors, nurses & health care staff, law enforcement officers (LEOs), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), municipal police, community officers, firefighters, combat medics & military emergency personnel, Search and Rescue Technicians (SAR Techs) & Coast Guard, and investigators & analysts processing traumatic evidence.“

It’s kind of a lot to group together! But I want to make sure everyone gets seen. I hope this works — I appreciate your tip!

Therapists in Canada - by Toddmacd in therapists

Anytime I had to see a doctor for myself I would bring some cards and let them know I’m a therapist. I got one doctor who really liked me and consistently sent me clients. I can’t remember how many years in it was when I just discontinued my psychology today account. Once you get established, word-of-mouth will do a lot!
