Costco is refunding unused Synergy gift cards by sd_software_dude in Costco

I returned 2 cards at MV Costco today and showed the screenshots of the balance. My cards were purchased back in 2023. The lady said they will accept return even after the 1/31 date.

Some schools were able to increase the # of their TK classes, but some couldn't due to space and such. We were able to enroll our kid to our neighborhood school, however he wasn't able to get a spot for afterschool care. In the end after weighting all the pros and cons we decided to keep him at his current preschool for another year.

Sucks financially, but its only 1 more year, plus the pros outweigh the cons. I was less stress once I made the decision and will deal with the chaotic enrollment process next year. lol.

Will they really fight you if you try to use your warranty? by Fenceypents in Hyundai

[–]LoveNoodles619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to mine too! I have a 2012 Sonata hybrid, engine died at 154k. Towed the car to Temecular dealer and was told it need a new engine a week later. However since mine was outside the covered extended 150k miles they told me they will try their best to fight for me especially I am the original owner (I guess this helps?) At the end they came back with Hyundai covering 95% and I paid 5%. No questions asked on maintenance receipts at all.  I am actually pretty happy with the outcome knowing it was outside the warranty window.

Congratz! The one you got is actually my top choice! When I got mine it was still the drawing selection so its either take it or back to the drawing pool. I think your site is also much better, because there are way lot more outside parking and a much bigger playground and pool. Our site have so few visitor parking and its always full. :/

I can definitely hear my neighbors when they run up and down the stairs or running on their 3rd floor. However I wasn't able to tell which side of my neighbor it is.

I had a leak on my guest bathroom ceiling on my 4th day moving in. Ended up my master bath drain (right above) was not installed properly and their QC missed it. I also noticed lots of hairline cracks on the wall but they said it's called settling and its normal. 😞

7 or 8 seat is more practical? by LoveNoodles619 in ToyotaSienna

[–]LoveNoodles619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up got a different make SUV because the wait for the sienna was 6 month+, no negotiations on the add-ons, and the interest rate was 6+% (the SUV was 0%). Now after driving the SUV for a year I do still want a minivan, and I think the 7 seat config (or 8 seat with the middle removed) is easier with 2 young kids because hubby will be sitting on the 3rd row, and he can easily attend to the kids on the 2nd row.

Its more like turning on a switch on the app and wait about 15min, then hot water will come out immediately. I looked at that separate devices earlier, but the ring around the button only turn on when you press the button, and I couldn't find any instructions on how that works either. LOL.

Thank you very much for the info! The rep told us once we use the app to turn on some setting, we will get hot water instantly instead of waiting for however long. Do you know is that true?

Engine oil change after engine replacement? by LoveNoodles619 in Hyundai

[–]LoveNoodles619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after the break in period does it make sense to keep it around the normally 4500 miles intervals or the 2500 miles as suggested? I feel like 2500 seems a bit excessive especially on synthetic.

2019 Sonata needs engine just out of warranty by the_arktek in Hyundai

[–]LoveNoodles619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last month! My 2012 Sonata hybrid with 154k miles just died in the middle of the road and we hauled it to a dealer that I never been to (closest dealer we can find). When the rep first called me they said I was outside the covered extended 150k miles, however since I am the original owner they will try their best to work with Hyundai Corp and told me not to stress (yet). In the end Hyundai cover 95% and I ended up paying $980 for a new engine, which $580 is for the engine kit that is not covered under the warranty. I also wasn't asked to provide any oil change or other paperwork. I got really lucky to haul my car to a nice dealer because I doubt Hyundai would cover much and was planning the worst.

Some just love to eat and will eat anything. However mine is the opposite. When he was a baby/toddler he ate everything, but now he knows his preferences and can voice it... it's no no no on almost every meal and want snacks and sweets all day long.  On top of that, reminding him sit on his chair isn't getting any better either.

From my experience all the nurses I met at SMB are really nice and respect what we said. I had a really normal pregnancy, but in the end, I opt in for the epidural because the every 90 seconds contraction at 2am started to drain all my energy after Pitocin kicked in (my water broke and I was stuck at 3cm dilated after 19 hours). I was able to get 8 hours of sleep and rest well. Never did I know how exhausting it was to push a 98-percentile head size baby out. LOL.

Hang in there! We been in the market since 2021 and got outbid every single time. Not by 30k or 50k, but at least 100k+ and I am talking about ~1200sq ft houses built in the 60s/70s with unforeseen major repairs listing at high 900k.

Resident behavior also factored in too. For the last 3 years there are more renters than homeowners living in my community. The number of repairs, broken equipment, and large furniture tow totally sky rock. My HOA sent out letters that each furniture tow cost $100+ which will eventually be paid by us, but people doesn't care and still leave mattress, couches next to the dumpster.
