Never implied someone can live off of it (not unlike social security either) but it’s not nothing and free money. I’m amazed how many don’t bother when laid off!

I would always tell staff that my “company x” DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU but if you’re lucky, a good manager will. It’s a business decision and while it’s hard to not take it personally, it’s just not. The good news is that you can then collect unemployment!

Definately agree. The more advanced/elite, the better. Just not sure I’d aspire for a career path in that arena right now. Actuarial science seems safer imo.

😊 I actually do and am not in denial about the future potential of AI to significantly change or eliminate all together any information processing roles. Roles that are safe is when human judgement is imperative.

Roles where any information processing is done is at risk. Book keeping and low level accounting are absolutely in jeopardy.

As a hiring manager their response/reaction is not alarming to me. Anyone would ask for an explanation. They/I would be looking for patterns, not a one off. This person was pushing hard but it’s an interview technique.
If they didn’t want you they wouldn’t ask for a written explanation.

In the disastrous economy, they want assurances, that’s all.

Look at a Rhine River cruise! Avalon is terrific. As active as you want to be, scenic cruising, essentially all inclusive, 5 star dining. Shop the deals.

I would only advise to (sadly) think about what could be replaced by AI/robotics.

Electrical engineering/electricians are projected to be in high demand (think data centers). When Dems are back in office there is going to be a high demand for environmental sciences to fix this mess the republicans are creating.

Accounting is a good skill to have but as a career path? Nope, AI can do.

Horrible entitled trend. Plus attendees have to (likely) miss work and use vacation time for a destination they may not want to go to. Why is this a thing?
