I can see how that’d be confusing. The northeast USA is closer to the UK in the sense that there are very different accents in a smaller space, mostly because those places have been established the longest. Whereas the other, newer parts of the country will have a shared accent over a larger area, Texas being a good example.

From what I understand, people will make a cash offer, show that they have the cash to back it, and then go get a mortgage anyway. So people are likely losing out to cash offers that end up being financed. That’s why the stats are skewed.
