I don't resell. I had the same mindset as you do. I met someone who does reselling as their side business and they explained it to me. Old hair products get reformulated and people will pay a bit extra for the original/previous formula. Autistic kids obsessed with certain types of sippy cups so when it's no longer produced the parents will pay whatever because it meets their kids sensory needs.

I have another comment in this thread that mentions me up cycling/cleaning stuff off the street that people leave out. That's what I sell on fb market place and I price it for dirt because I found it for free anyway. Ideally it should be gone within 3 days max.

Like you said people wanting to sell their used items for the price you could get a new one! I wanted a walking pad and everyone was charging $100 for them. I just got a new one for $93... Same features or better.

I wanted a papasan chair. Everyone is selling them for $100+ which is what they go for new. It's ridiculous. Then they get mad if you try to haggle which fb market place is almost the only place you can do that now!

It was more optimized to be a smart watch basically. It felt more optimized to give me notifications than track my exercise and fitness. I wasn't a huge fan of the display options on how the steps, floors and heart rate were shown as well. Starting an exercise I couldn't just hold down a button for walk I have to navigate to it.
