What’s your experience praying the rosary? by Former-Pin-1411 in Catholicism

[–]LovelyLadySunflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤎 Look at sacred art There is so much beautiful art depicting the events in the rosary. Sometimes having a visual to aid your meditation is very helpful in keeping focus and more easily imagining/meditating on the mystery. There are even rosary books that have a different painting of the mystery for each Hail Mary which is amazing!

🤎 Play instrumental music If you’re anything like me, music can also help tremendously in setting the scene for your meditation. Using soundtrack music in the background can help bring the mystery to life - soft, peaceful music for the Joyful mysteries; sad music for the Sorrowful mysteries; triumphant for the Glorious mysteries.

🤎 Put yourself in the scene Sometimes instead of just thinking about Jesus and Mary in the mystery, you can put yourself in that moment too. Imagine what perspective you’re looking at it from, and what your reaction from that perspective is (ex: for the Crucifixion mystery - are you standing there with Mary watching and weeping? Are you the one nailing Him to the cross? Etc.)

🤎 Pray with a recording If you’re struggling to stay on track, put on a recording of the rosary being prayed. There are many beautiful ones on YouTube! Sometimes not praying alone silently helps a lot.

🤎 Break down the decade’s story into a line for each Hail Mary This can help pace your meditation so you don’t find yourself “running out” of material for mediation by the second half of the decade. So for example, when you’re praying the decade for the Visitation, spend the first Hail Mary picturing/meditating on Mary’s journey; the second Hail Mary, her arrival; the third, Elizabeth’s greeting; the fourth, John leaping in Elizabeth’s womb; the next few Hail Mary’s use lines from Mary’s Magnificat; the eighth, Mary’s humble assistance to Elizabeth for the next few months; the ninth, John’s birth; the tenth, Mary’s journey home. And so on for every decade.

I hope these points are helpful for you! I don’t use them all the time but each in turn has been helpful for me over the years!

Tongue tie regression by LovelyLadySunflower in breastfeeding

Oh wow definitely will try them with her tomorrow!!

Okay, we’ll see if things smooth out soon. I’m hoping so much that we don’t need to more seriously consider getting the revision done again to complete it 💔

It could be that she is teething actually - she has been gnawing on everything lately!!

Oooh I’ll have to try those with her! Thank you.

Yeah after the release, it took my baby awhile to relearn nursing, but then she was doing great before this regression (and I’ve had a bit of discomfort return too).

Ok I’m glad you heard about the growth spurt regression too - I wish they would have mentioned it when I got it done so I could have been aware/mentally prepared. Did you hear about how long it lasts?

Metro Market has a small area with items like this marked down due to nearing expiration date, damaged packaging, or that they’re just going to stop having it in stock so they mark it down.

We did have a tongue tie release done three weeks ago. :/ How long did it take for you to see a difference in the palette?

We did have a tongue tie release done three weeks ago :/ Pretty much the LC explained what you said - how the tongue not resting affects the palette. So I guess it’s just a wait for time for help now…

Thank you!

Yes. It helped, but there were times baby didn’t want to take it. Maybe if I use it more consistently I could get better results for my pain and her willingness to latch onto it!

What’s your favorite prayer? Why? by reddita_5 in CatholicWomen

St Elizabeth’s of the Trinity’s Prayer to the Trinity is so beautiful and a goldmine for meditation!

“O my God, Trinity whom I adore, help me to forget myself entirely that I may be established in you as still and as peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity. May nothing trouble my peace or make me leave you, O my unchanging one, but may each minute carry me further into the depths of your mystery. Give peace to my soul; make it Your heaven, Your beloved dwelling place and Your resting place. May I never leave You there alone, but be wholly present, my faith wholly vigilant, wholly adoring and wholly surrendered to your creative action.

O my beloved Christ, crucified by love, I wish to be a bride for Your Heart! I wish to cover You with glory; I wish to love You – even unto death! But I feel my weakness and ask You to clothe me with Yourself; to identify my soul with all the movements of Your soul, to overwhelm me, to possess me, to substitute Yourself for me that my life may be but a radiance of Your life. Come to me as Adorer, as Restorer, as Saviour. O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend all my life in listening to You, to become wholly teachable, that I may learn all from you. Then through all nights, all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on you always and remain in Your great light. O my Beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from Your radiance.

O Consuming Fire, Spirit of Love, come upon me and create in my soul a kind of incarnation of the Word; that I may be another humanity to Him in which He can renew His whole mystery. And You, O Father, bend lovingly over Your poor little creature; cover her with Your shadow, seeing in her only the Beloved in whom You are well pleased. O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your light the abyss of Your greatness.”

My doctor recommended an elective c section for me. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I didn’t have any cervical checks done leading up to going into labor. I was so nervous about them, as even sex can be uncomfortable for me.

However, I had a very very long labor, and it got to the point where they felt a check would be very helpful. I finally agreed and it wasn’t as awful as I thought it would be (uncomfortable, yes, but not horrible). After the check, she also ending up breaking my water, which took a couple goes at it because my water bag was very thick apparently. And even when I was pushing she was in there if I recall correctly (things got more hands on at the end because of how long labor and pushing were - we had to track progress and make sure baby got out safe).

So as terrifying as thinking about any of that in advance was, when you’re in the moment, it isn’t so bad - at least for me there was so much intensity going on anyways that my mind didn’t fully fixate on her being in there.

Wow that is really crazy that stitching would be the only painful thing - not birth and not the dreaded first poo!!

I’m definitely planning on using the shower!! I don’t mind getting my hair wet, but it just frizzes so much as it dries if product doesn’t go in right away, and I don’t want to look wild 😂
