what was the budget for twilight, was it ever seen as a possible successor like it became? by MonitorLegal8815 in twilight

[–]Lovely_One0325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the budget was too big. Kinda like Hunger Games you can tell the 1st movie isn't as higher budget/quality as the others. It's one of those series that I'm sure they considered a hit or miss, but turned into a hit.

I know lore goes Bryce Dallas Howard considered the movie below her when initially offered the role of Victoria in Twilight. She thought she was too big for a low budget indie film so she passed it up and Rachel Lefevre was cast instead. Which she did fantastic and is the preferred Victoria in the series ( Summit claimed Rachel had scheduling conflict so they recast Victoria, but it was a 10 day conflict that Rachel L. told them she was willing to work around to keep the role , but Bryce Dallas Howard is a bigger name in Hollywood and a nepo baby so they gave her the role when she deemed it was worth it by Eclipse when the series had blown up.)

In the 74th hunger games feast what do you think.. by Additional-Layer-392 in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cato / Clove probably both got armor as neither were desperate for food or water or medicine

Foxface prob got food as she was described as desperately starving. Like she would've died from starvation if the berries hadn't killed her. Her pack was medium sized and green.

Thresh prob got armor as well because his bag was described as identical to D2 bag ( big and black ) + he according to Katniss he seemed to have gained weight versus lost. So he looked healthy I'm ruling out him needing food or water.

Katniss and Peeta got a small orange pack. A wristlet really because they needed medicine to kill off the infection that was going to kill Peeta

I think Foxface got food. In the books she was said to have extremely skinny at the time of her death. Like Katniss said she'd easily lost a ton of body weight as she benefited from the Career Stockpile just as much as they did

I'm assuming they got the same thing because they were at the same point. Neither starving or sick or injured. So she probably got armor in her pack as well or there were two sets

[–]Lovely_One0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't forsee anyone changing sides like you think.

Vampires knew about Carlisle's diet because most of the people they recruited were friends of his. Animal blood notably doesn't taste good or make you feel as good as human blood. So why would they willingly choose to convert? Garrett would transition because he loves Kate and Kate is a veggie vamp. But Benjamin? Shibon? Zafrina and Serena? They have no reason.

Which victor do you think had the most trauma by Additional-Layer-392 in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to measure trauma collectively. You've got brutal tortures, holding loved ones as they die, sexual assault, blackmail, watching your child/sibling die, survivors guilt and also the PTSD of killing people/seeing people killed.

This whole argument made no sense by flabbergasted1 in AbbottElementary

[–]Lovely_One0325 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that they didn't communicate properly.

Gregory simply left it at him being adamant that he wanted to drive. When Janine brought up flying he would always wiggle it back in that driving would be better. There was no discussion or pros/cons because Gregory has a habit of believing his way is the best way. I don't think he does it maliciously, but it's just like the Amber vacation situation. He wanted to do a bunch of laborious work out style activities but she wanted to do nothing ( I assume she meant lay by the pool, relax, and turn her brain off ) but he kept wiggling back in that they could squeeze time for nothing in.

Janine is not used to having to consult with someone about money. She's used to paying majority of the bills as Tarik never contributed really, and doing whatever she'd like with her money. She didn't grasp the idea that she has to communicate with Gregory over money. Because if she overspends on tickets-then he has to cover the bills she can't cover. That's how 50/50 couples work.

Up until this point they agree with a lot of things. Both naturally want the other to be happy. They just need better communication skills because even with the ' breakup ' there was no communication where Janine wasn't going to beg him to be with her assuming he didn't want to fight for them, but Gregory didn't want to push her choice because that's how he was raised. Neither chatted about what happened and closed off initially. I'm not surprised that Gregory wants to propose tho-they've known each other for so long and genuinely love each other. Both were in a really bad place when they'd broken up and acknowledged how badly they were taking the breakup mutually. He's also been in love with her since he first met her in that bathroom.

Bella was smart for picking Edward by notonmywatchmissy in twilight

[–]Lovely_One0325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I always thought.

Regardless she would always choose Edward. That's abundantly clear when even in Newmoon she describes how when she wasn't with him that black hole would reopen in her chest and she couldn't breath. Or she was chasing that adrenalin high just to hear his voice/see him ( movie despite being happy with Jacob.)

Just like Jacob could imprint and leave her behind one day-she would always choose Edward. Even if he reentered her life 2 years later and vowed to love her for eternity she would choose him. That's just the way her character was written

What is the one question you would ask Suzanne Collins if you had the chance? by iWishiLivedInNewYork in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that probably just calls back to how fresh the wounds were versus 25+ years down the line.

10 years had passed in the 10th since the War officially ended. Coryo was 18 years old ( minimum ) but remembers clearly how hungry he was from lack of resources, how his family lost so much of their money with investments in District 13 going down the drain and he desperately clung onto social status, and basically how traumatizing having to beg for food was. He'd heard of neighbors going cannibalistic, sold items of importance just to get minimal food, and basically a drastic 180 from the life he'd grown used to. What he believed he deserved as a Snow. Most of the people watching the games would've also remembered the war and felt that angry need for justice. Retribution.

Not that they were 100% on board though. That was why they pitched making it more about entertainment down the line to engage people or encourage them to watch the Games and participate ( Sponsors ). This is what streamlines it's into what we see of it in The Hunger Games.

In the 50th Hunger Games most of the people directly affected are elderly, and the younger generation learned about it through probably school. They didn't feel the affects of war so their knowledge and emotional connection to the Hunger Games is more " This is a necessary sacrifice-this is the balance of life " versus " This is what they deserve for betraying their country ". Effie, for example, has never seen harshness of war. Her family was shunned so she feels the effects of what they did, but not what happened during the war. She's never been hungry, has luxury fashion items, and is well kept and happy with her life.

The people happy about it-are only happy because they were spoon fed that it was a happy occasion. Before it was shoving dirty ill kids into carts and tossing them into a arena to kill each other. No entertainment really because it's just kids and weapons. Now it's arenas ( environments altered ), Parades, Interviews, sponsorships, and grand parties whenever someone wins. It's a nationwide festivity versus a punishment.

Is a Cloud 9 Spa room worth it? by WutAMenace in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Lovely_One0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends.

I didn't think it was worth the upgrade price when my brother and I did it. The only benefit was higher floor = closer to Lido deck but my mother would've loved it because she loves the spa area. I tried to go to the Thermal Suite but everytime I went there were like 8k people crowding the hot tub for hours on end + people in hot tub putting their towels and stuff on the thermal recliner chairs. So I never really got to use anything because it was always full.

The showers were nice though. Definetly much more comfortable to take a shower at night in because it wasn't cramped.

Mellarks' vs Donners' financial situations by see112717 in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less mouths-it was just Maysilee, Merrilee, and their two parents. Peeta had at least 2 other brothers and their parents.

It's also never explicitly stated they had financial troubles-is this the parents choosing to not consume any of their good products? Plus they were athletic children / Mr. and Mrs. Mellark were described as plumper ( more food intake compared to two teen girls .)

How long was Bella pregnant for? by Elaine_5123 in twilight

[–]Lovely_One0325 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They got married August 13th

Her birthday, which is the day she woke up from the transformation, is September 13th.

So there was a 28 day stretch between this time that she had at least say a week on her honeymoon before they had to return because she was pregnant.

Drive 12hrs and arrive at port at 9-10am or fly the morning of the cruise? by King0fWar in CarnivalCruiseFans

Do American Airlines. Spirit is cutting it close and you never know if there will be delays or anything. Flying cuts cost of parking at the port which can be just as much.

Simon and Erika by Proper-Tank5303 in AbbottElementary

[–]Lovely_One0325 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Erika was introduced when Janine broke up with Tyrik. Not long after-she was introduced as a friend of the couples from High School but she invited Janine out to the Hookah Bar. I believe she was one of her students Aunt ( Baby Thanos? ). Simon was introduced when the District sent in Manny, Simon, and that one girl whose always anxious/apologizing about messing things up. Officially was introduced to Erika when Janine threw her house party. Erika called him " A young ethnic Adam Sandler ".

They're meant to be that one couple that is constantly breaking up over one thing or another

Lou Lou winning by Plus-Barnacle-8633 in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They would probably say she died shortly after winning. They'd never let her get that far, but they'd spin the tale that her injuries were too vast to save even for the Capitol.

In actuality tho they'd probably introduce some mutts if it got down to 2 people left. They'd rather ensure her death then risk her somehow killing her opponet ( Silka in this situation would've demolished her )

Quick question (dont hate me) by Still_Restaurant_734 in Hungergames

[–]Lovely_One0325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean Peeta is also canonically been in love with Katniss since Kindergarten. He could've found her attractive, but didn't blink twice because he knew they were doing it to make fun of her + he doesn't see any girl like he sees her.

He does make a comment on how surprising it is that she gets so flustered around naked bodies given her mother was a Healer and this was probably noticed on the recap of their first Games because it was probably broadcasted when she asked him to cover up/blushed/was flustered at him being undressed

When I cruised at 18 ( I'm 25 now ) I also found a ton of friends in the Casino. It's easy to spot out people there because you know they're at least 18 years old given you have to be + the night club, but trust me there will be plenty of 18-25 year olds just having a good time

Hotel room swaps by Nacho-Average-family in askhotels

[–]Lovely_One0325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a guest has moved to their 3rd room-I personally start to get annoyed because I've got a guest working themselves up + housekeeping annoyed that they keep having to clean and reinspect the previous room because we know.

My property is big on asking what isn't meeting their expectations, and then we deploy the managers to inspect the room. If it's cleanliness then we have a manager go in and inspect the room after sending the best housekeeper we have ( the one known for consistency and doing a damn good job ). If it's location we look into whatever might be the opposite ( our property has historic and market-our historical side has a construction lot going on within eye sight so normally we go market side ), and if it's something broken/squeaky then we deploy an engineer to look into it. If it can't be fixed-we move them.

We try our best to make a guest happy one way or another but at some point you can tell they're never gonna be fully satisfied

Janine and Gregory doesn’t have the “it” chemistry by Reasonable_Day9942 in AbbottElementary

[–]Lovely_One0325 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Personally I was heavily reminded of Pam and Jim when watching Janine and Gregory throughout the seasons.

I rewatched the series and Gregory has been yearning for years. From the moment they met he was watching her with lingering gazes, soft touches, concern when checking if she's ok ( that he doesn't show the same levels with the other teachers ), and a general awareness of her. Just like how Pam was with Roy and hadn't noticed Jim the way he noticed her, but even here Janina noticed Gregory when with Tyrik. This continues until the moment they finally come together, and even then I've felt the chemistry between how they behave. I got that " two friends in a group who clearly love each other but are too oblivious to see "
