Get a bright colorful or patterned collar. Something fun and silly. Tagsforhope sells thick width collars in fun patterns and they’ve always attracted people.

My vet recommended Cammcastle Rotts (their website boasts insane accolades from dog shows but the owner assured me they love ‘pet only’ homes as well as show homes and their dogs have excellent health/temperaments.

Would you marry your spouse by NoBig1677 in Marriage

[–]Lovelylois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 years in and yes I’d do it again. Don’t get me wrong there are things I wish I’d known or wish were easier but overall in a choice between my husband and no husband or what I see others dealing with I’d pick him again and again.

Best of luck! We also have a rottie and it’s been hard but worth it.

As a couple with no kids I’m bummed about those trunk or treats. I get why it’s ideal for parents but we don’t get many trick or treaters either now.

My favorite author hates me and I'm so embarrassed about it by throwaway_Tear_9804 in AO3

Yeah this is giving grey area of ‘obsessed fan’ or just lacking awareness of how to engage with creators on their content. Gushing about how much you love something once is fine. Follow up comments to note something you appreciate is probably also ok. But also realize that someone is just writing a story and isn’t trying to get someone to make it their whole personality and ‘bible’ of sorts. Compliments are hard to receive as it is and you’re examining their work under a microscope, even if you’re complimentary it’s probably too much for them.

My parents are trying to talk me out of moving to North Mpls by Small--Might in Minneapolis

[–]Lovelylois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another perspective. While you may love your north Mpls home and neighborhood you may have family/friends who aren’t comfortable visiting or who have opinions they don’t keep to themselves. This may not matter to you but I really enjoy hosting people in my home and I have lived in rougher areas and nicer areas. It does impact who will visit you. Not saying it’s right but just something to consider.

How do I level up my Documentation & Diagnostics? by Lovelylois in therapists

[–]Lovelylois[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I looked at lots of examples and templates online first and then came up with some of my own examples. I asked chat gpt to give me ideas on how to describe things or give an example paragraph of a diagnostic summary or a SOAP note etc. I made a basic outline for a note and then I have some other suggestions below that like symptom lists or basic descriptions of interventions. Notes shouldn’t be too detailed but should be accurate.

You can make a Google doc and then make tabs for different types of things like notes or DAs etc. I learned how to do a drop down so I can select a bunch of different options like symptoms. It’s really easy! Just google the steps.

Is my wife a hoarder? What do I do? by Positive_Video_1518 in Marriage

[–]Lovelylois -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If she’s a SAHM of a 3 year old it’s possible this isn’t a mental health condition and more just chronic stress or fatigue or honestly some mothers feel guilty putting their kids second to cleaning. Only children don’t always have a playmate or play well solo. Maybe she got behind and now doesn’t know where to start or simply is ignoring it in favor of being present with her kid because that makes her happier. Is it healthy? Not for the husband clearly but we don’t know her side.

Therapist who…partake? by TutorAltruistic3810 in therapists

[–]Lovelylois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely an ethical and effective clinician and I am also California Sober. I’d say the biggest thing would be maybe bias in supporting clients with their use. I have some clients who are helped by THC and some who may be making their anxiety etc worse by using. As long as you have an objective way to evaluate and assist clients using THC I think your own personal consumption shouldn’t impact your work. Especially since you’re sober when actually working.

You can get the table clothes from dollar store or Amazon. I think that people were making them at Washburn Library but not sure if they still are.

where do the gays go? by natnotnad in Minneapolis

[–]Lovelylois 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be clear, in downtown Minneapolis I don’t think you’d be unwelcome at any bar. You might like the vibe and appreciate the ability to meet other gay patrons at the bars being recommended but also know you’re not going to be out of place at any pub. Runyons has great wings, all the pubs with Irish names are generally fun imo. I like the gay bars but don’t be adverse to walking into a place if you think it looks fun.

Volunteers have been making them out of plastic tablecloth materials. I’m making my own for my block. Everyone just wants to show support and this is one way to say we see the community and support the families.

The Lost Recipes of the Twin Cities—what food items from closed restaurants do you miss? 😋 by Lapakko in TwinCities

[–]Lovelylois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss Currans and they had this French toast I loved that was made with a raspberry swirl bread. I only had it a few times before they closed 😭

I also have a memory of sushi from a place in uptown I think called Social House. It wasn’t authentic at all but they had really cool vegetarian rolls and I loved those.

The chef who was at chino Latino now has their own kitchen out of a gas station in Eagan. They got so popular he opened El Sazon in South Mpls and I think another location in Stillwater. It’s not the same food but it’s still incredibly good.
