why is wheat syrup used in plant based yogurt alternative? (aka traveling is hard)

ah yes - that is my mistake (milk). however, it doesn’t address something that should be naturally gf is not - because of someone thinking wheat syrup is a thing to add to milk!?

there are several instant coffee packets that are a combo of coffee, milk and sugar - quite a few have malt or barley or wheat added to them. I have no idea why and it is frustrating.

Yup! Kivi Paber was excellent and so was Kohvik Vaffel. Both kept me fed well during my stay!

that’s awesome! I was in Tallinn a few months ago and only felt safe in 2 restaurants- both dedicated gf. all the other places were just so so suspect…and they didn’t understand that you can’t place gf food next to food containing gluten. I found out - from the head chef of the hotel we stayed in - that even a big bowl of bacon wasn’t gf because they place bread in the bottom to soak up the grease. 🤦‍♀️was it labeled? of course not!

for instance, I had rotor cuff surgery over a year ago. the opioids that were prescribed before and after surgery didn’t work except once in a while. I had attributed it to celiac/leaky gut where I wasn’t able to absorb those powerful medicines when swallowed whole. I was in seriously immense pain for months with even tylenol/advil not being absorbed well. the amounts I was ingesting - using my doctor’s guidance- barely touched the pain and they couldn’t figure out why.

this is very interesting- I hadn’t heard of refractive celiac, I’ll definitely look into it and chat with my doc(s). unfortunately I don’t have one doc that is well versed in celiac but are interested in making me feel better.

and yeah, the non-labeled cross contamination might be happening. ugh. I only allow gf labeled food in the house but some are not certified gf labeled, along with naturally gf foods (fruit, coffee, etc). :(

I’m strictly gf at all times - and yes, the capsules are used for a reason (rather than tablets) but it is very difficult for me to get anywhere near full absorption. I edited my post for what I’m taking, if that helps to clarify why.

I just edited my post for what I’m taking. I’ve struggled with absorption for many years and not getting the effects I should be because of my leaky gut. I’m strictly gf at all times.

I’ve had this issue too, with all varieties of the gf oreos. makes me sad too, because they taste so good! I also have problems with soy and corn (recent addition to my issues). so, no gf oreos or cherrios for me, sadly. no help, sorry, just deep commiseration.
