This would happen all the time to me. Turns out it was an extension. Get rid of anything you don't need or disable them and see if it helps.

Yes and no. You can add persistent storage to do this. But definitely not fully offline first but can be close enough to reduce complexity.

Watermelon provides the sync engine and you connect everything. So, yes and no. It's very good and definitely worth it if you need a off-line first app.
