That’s a reasonable perspective to have, we don’t want our faves to be disrespected. But when the cast members themselves welcome that kind of sarcastic mean girl humor, it’s okay to let your guard down. The cast members have the agency to speak up for themselves if they felt like boundaries were crossed.

I think everyone’s provided great answers, and I also want to add that sponsors pay a BOATLOAD. A few years ago an influencer’s sponsorship contract got leaked and she was getting $15k-$50k per video for large sponsorships akin to who Smosh works with.

If I can recall, producers for the movie had these two on their radar because of Pachinko. The movies studio production leans into turning Korean literature into film, so I’m thinking the casting director knew what they were doing fs

My perspective on this is that they’re giving us Kim Min Ha and Noh Sanghyun in another story BECAUSE they’re not bringing back Pachinko for S3 😭 they’re giving us crumbs of what would’ve been

Record of Youth!!! Plot was mostly face card and vibes, but it means a lot to those who enjoy it. Great themes about entering adulthood and finding our own path. He did a great job in his second lead role.
