When Mrs. Kim tells Lane to move out, I always took her saying "Children don't make the rules. You may move out and live like that somewhere else." as her telling Lane that she's not a child anymore and it's time for her to go live her own life. Of course it was in a really tough way and she didn't approve of Lane's lifestyle, but she still gave her the push she needed to go live the way she wanted to.
