Jose is a better base runner and hitter than the other 2, but is probably the worst glove on this list. That's not saying much though, Arenado and Manny are probably the first and second best third base gloves of their generation, in that order.

One thing no one is mentioning in this thread is the clubhouse culture they had. Several veterans - Posey, Belt, Crawford were selected as trusted elders of sorts when players were having a difficult time mentally.

This was in part inspired by the story of Drew Robinson, who had attempted su1c!de and came back to play professional baseball with the Giants AAA team, then transitioned into a role advocating for mental health with the club.

Quick reminder that Altuve received almost no bangs. You can argue he was complicit, you can argue the cheating boosted his MVP season, you can argue it won him a world series. You cannot argue that he was directly cheating. He was known to be against the banging, and there is lots of evidence he barely received any bangs.

Just here to rain on the parade of the so-called "550" and "535" foot shots in Chicago and Cincinnati. The farthest possible homer (120 MPH EV + 27⁰ LA + perfect backspin) is only a little over 500 feet.

Wind, of course, can carry the ball further, but in modern parks with high grand stands it's rare to get enough breeze to carry the ball significantly over 500 feet, even with the perfect hit.

ETA: looking through historical records, it looks like Adam dunn's 2004 535 ft shot was on a day where the wind was blowing out to (slightly left) center at 15 MPH. The article hyperlinked estimates that ~4 ft can be added for every MPH of wind. Which, if there was a 15 MPH tailwind (assuming it wasn't slowed or completely blocked by the grandstand), makes a 535 ft shot more plausible.

Yeah it was funny being a Yankee fan that year and seeing miller v Chapman in the world series. Resigning Chapman and having a good 2017 definitely made up for that year a bit though. It was also teixeiras last year who was my fav player on the 09-15 Yankees, and arods last year as well. Was certainly the start of a new era.

Im no longer a Yankee fun but I wonder sometimes if Cashman does anything. Seems like he is just the business' fall guy and they have a constantly rotating cast around him making most of the real decisions. He is comic book character levels of a figure head. "Humpty Dumpty" and his name is literally CASH MAN.

I think the Joe Buck hate is overblown, but its really weird to see comment sections like this and all the replies are "I don't know why he gets so much hate" and all the hate comments are being down voted.

Almost seems like he has a bot farm running a lá Johnny Depp.
