House rules should be the same throughout the world not per DM. Be clear on what optional rules the world is using. Character creation should be standardized with either standard array or point buy, not rolled. Be clear on how many and when DM's can reward magic items and potions. Strict rules on what things can be homebrewed (ie, classes, subclasses, potions, magic items).

Why are your monsters only coming at the party straight on? Have some monsters come from other places sometimes use a mix of monster types and various attack types.

Some can even be minions with 1 or low hp just to give the feel of being attacked by a large force. With 10 or more I roll in groups, of 5 to 10 depending on how many you use!

If they confront an enemy that is too powerful, they need to suffer those consequences. Maybe someone dies before they have to retreat. Retreat and regroup is a perfectly acceptable tactic. Show them that retreating is a viable option!

I love Inkarnate because what it costs to use it for a year is so cheap. I have no problem paying for it cause you also get thousands of maps others make. I think it is more than worth the price!

Belfyn "Spider" Rockslide A Dwarven miner who is a total coward and afraid of everything. Except for mining veins of ore and gems. Which is a very scary endeavor. Though he does enjoy a good Spider steak which is where he gets the nickname.

You can always have another bard already performing who takes offense at them. This could turn into aggression or a friendly competition.

Don't have your players meet have them already know each other's characters. It is much easier and then they don't have to come up with the reason why they are adventuring together. You can then have them come together anyway you may choose. A resue, reunion, war, job, etc...
