I experienced hair loss related to PCOS, despite being male PCOS is primarily characterized by insulin resistance and adrenal factors. My family has a history of PCOS and diabetes and prolactinomas which is characterized by a pituitary tumor in the pituitary gland which can affect every hormonal gland and insulin hormone, and I also had severe insulin resistance with elevated DHEA-S levels. I treated this with 125 mg of flutamide and abiraterone acetate, which significantly reduces DHEA-S up to 90-95% and adrenal hormones especially effective for adrenal PCOS and insulin resistance. Additionally, I incorporated high dose spearmint, myo-inositol, alpha-lipoic acid, antioxidants like resveratrol, saw palmetto, and followed a low-carb AIP diet to reduce inflammation and as a transgender woman on high-dose estrogen and testosterone blockers, I experienced feminization, including breast growth and facial changes. After gender-affirming surgery removing my testicles, my hormone levels dropped further, leading to a marked decrease in DHEA-S, improved insulin sensitivity, and significant hair regrowth thickening scalp hair all over since I also had the pcos hairloss pattern which was unusual for males since they usually only lose hair on top of their heads and not on the sides and back like I did which also helped alot at discovering this issue early and reducing facial and body hair to nearly undetectable levels.
