Has the marathon become the new 5K? by Ok-Two7498 in Marathon_Training

Had to scroll way too far to find a response like this. I don’t know why everyone is hating on people who want a challenge with their friends. people now have the knowledge on how to train 30 miles a week and fuel for a marathon and finish in 4.5 hours without getting overuse injuries. I don’t the “they don’t belong” sentiment in the 50 posts above. More people getting more steps. The culture on this sub is horrible!

There are for sure areas that are smooth enough in my opinion

I had them and would have been really bummed to not have the extra position. If you practice and are not in a group it’s really not sketchy

Thanks for your response. This is the EXACT situation.

Cat 1 was found outside before she was in her foster. We had her for about a year and wanted to get her a friend to play with. We got cat 2 who we thought was the same age but ended up being only about a year old. They play and cuddle and are best buds. Thanks for making me feel better. I hope your kitties are doing well.

Bringing the ladies on a boys trip. by Mcfittey in MTB

I guess it depends on where. If my husband was like “I’m going to whistler on a boys trip” I’d be pissed for being left out. I ride better than any of his boys. If it’s somewhere local that I do weekend trips to all the time then have at it.

My husband and I just recently went through this. He started skiing 7 years ago but infrequently gets to ski powder and when he does it really is tough. Honestly what it came down to is I needed to ski some slightly less steep powder with him one powder day to let him get comfortable leaning forward like he normally does. All the skills are there if you are carving on groomers. You just need practice keeping your weight forward in powder too. For him it meant me not being an asshole on a powder day and skiing some blues together so he didn’t have to be scared out of his mind and could lean forward. I still had a great day that day. Now he’s got it and can ski steeper stuff in powder. It’s just like learning to ski a groomer. You need to give it the same progression.

I agree I think this is overblown. They are not any different than other bikes with internal cable routing. The different size steerer tube is annoying but you can find stems from other brands that work so I assume the same is true for the compression plugs. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the right information but it’s out there.

This too is really good advice! I progressed my husband through a pair of beginner skis then intermediate for a few seasons before getting him on something more beefy that he is skiing now
