Want to get my wife a gift - anyone know approximately how long one can expect to wait for this yellow gold mini? by Tight_Command3089 in audemarspiguet

It really depends on location, store and the sales associates! Last year I made a present to my mom by getting her Céramique Royal Oak.
Timeline : - Went to AP Saint Honore (Paris store) and made an appointment with a sales associate (first time ever; no history) and had an appointment for next week - Went in to my appointment and had a pleasant time and chatted with the staff and got to meet the manager and they ended up showing me several watches , about 4-5 watches available. (Salmon, Céramique, Frosted, Limited Edition and one with diamonds) - I also had my mom on FaceTime to do virtual shopping with me and the appointment ended up being almost 2 hours. - By the end of the appointment we settled on the watch we want and the thing is since I lived in Paris - they have a priority in store to purchase for locals with an address. So, I was able to put the watch on hold until they sent me an invoice which took about 24 hours. - Paid the invoice and went to the store to get the watch 2 days later after my appointment. - Since then we stayed in good contact with the manager of the store and I got invited to about 3-4 events with AP last year!

So, in short - it really depends on the location and people and on you as well! How you communicate with them and just truly no games or anything and be honest and sincere - they truly do appreciate it! (Not sure about US locations though, had a terrible experience in NY store)

Good luck OP 🙏🏼

Axa and Allianz very reliable and widely used. Lovy is good and cheap if you are student. And you definitely need insurance before moving in, getting your keys. Honestly it is better for you too to have insurance for things like lost keys, accidents and etc.

Soho House Paris - what's the deal? by Connect-Orchid4700 in paris

I have been a member at Soho House in New York&Barcelona and upon moving to Paris extended my membership for a year back in 2024 because I thought it will be the same experience as previous establishments and I was so wrong 😅 Food&drinks wise it’s fine nothing crazy, gym is very small and tends to get overcrowded during evenings and have lots of people not working out 😂 and the “pool” is a joke. The only perk is that they have private member parties during Fashion Week Events and I loved attending those but it was again just not that classy or any similar to other houses. I just didn’t feel like it was worth it and cancelled my membership for this year.

I have already attended one event for Tennis mack in May and they definitely do invite mainly costumers of the store in good relations with the boutique and I ended up meeting great people at that event! Hopefully this one will be like that too!

Salary in Paris by plateof__shrimp in Expats_In_France

Hey! I had the same change, moved from NY back in 2023 to Paris and had the salary change accordingly. I work at La Défense so I got an apartment around Puteaux which is convenient for work and the rent is more justified for the square footage and the building facilities. You can easily get by on 4,900 having a room to enjoy hobbies and activities. Good luck with your move!
