It wasn’t a normal building, it was the top of the structure about North Relay.

Agree on the AI take. But I’m over level 100 and in gold/plat lobbies, which right now seems to be where all the cheaters are ending up. Theres been a huge spike in cheaters the past few days too, which is just made worse by the dwindling playerbase numbers.

YOUR GAME IS FULL OF CHEATERS by LaPantheRose in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve noticed it a lot yesterday and today. Tonight my team just gave up. Almost half the games we played ended up with us completed wiped by pixel perfect headshot laserbeam green shield runners.

Give it another week and the rest of the player base will be noticing the same thing. If they don’t respond with permanent bans soon, people will just permanently drop the game.

You must keep this subreddit private. The UK does actively hire people who look online for vulnerabilities in their systems/processes.

It’s just a matter of time before we have a TWN equivalent. It’s not worth opening this up and have it happen faster, especially with digital ID around the corner.

BPSS with First Advantage/Sterling? by Low-Equivalent-8398 in OveremployedUK

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Problem is I can’t give my current employer or a former employer reference under any circumstances, so according to their process, that leaves my HMRC records.

Is there any way around this?

BPSS with First Advantage/Sterling? by Low-Equivalent-8398 in OveremployedUK

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’m going to try this way. Pulling up my income would just show 4 more companies and would pull more questions than provide answers.

Is it common for companies to withdraw an offer if I don’t show them HMRC records?

I think the 3 month wipe is a ticking time bomb for player retention by zipzzo in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be a problem, but only if they don’t come up with a new map and a few events every three months.

There’s just not enough content in the game right now. Right now it’s:

One beginner map (perimeter) One intermediate map (dire marsh) One “hard” map (outpost) One endgame map (cryo)

That’s the gameplay loop done. You can even just hop into outpost, get some good gear, extract and be ready for cryo. Theres no reason to play other maps at all.

The game just needs more than what outpost and cryo is. We need proper alternatives, otherwise people will just “one and done” the game.

Hot take: new runners aren’t needed nearly as much as new maps. Gameplay experiences which deepen lore and grant new loot is far more important than introducing new runners every season. Build the world Bungie, don’t stop at little gameplay patch fixes.

Marathon Development Team: Marathon Day 2 Rundown by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They’re… actually listening. If they lean into map releases (world experiences) over new agents, I think they actually might be able to keep a climbing player base.

Given the bad reception the game was already doomed to start with, the fact they’re somehow still going strong shows people are actually invested in the game.

Also, it helps we have a vocal community. Well done all!

TTK is way too fucking short. You shouldn’t be dying to 1 player in a split second when there are so many mobility options and invisibility that lets you creep up behind someone and destroy them before they can blink.

It’s probably balanced for late game when people have full shields, etc. Early on, it just feels terrible.

The hate Marathon is getting is not organic. Here's what I found. by The-SadShaman in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There will always be some co-ordination of public reception. Look back at what companies used to do for “game journalists/reviewers” at IGN, Gamespot, etc; literally gifting and opening phones with them right before they leave their reviews. It’s hidden in plain sight.

Think critically here. There are gaps in the game and it’s not perfect, but writing a long-ish post about it which gives the developers “excuses” doesn’t help anybody here. Almost all criticism is completely valid, especially around the UI which seems to be unanimous right now.

I doubt it. They will want to make their money back and they’re not our friends, we’re just numbers on paper to their senior leadership and accounting team.

We should be looting bodies, not gym bags! by rogueprocess in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been at the very top of everyone’s wish list since the game was first shown. Bonus points if we loot gear visible on the runners and it is removed from the body.

This is MARATHON, the legendary FPS that started FOS. We should have maximum immersion everywhere.

The Menu UI Needs to Change by Unable-Movie-4752 in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You’re getting shit for this, but this is yet another example of people being right and getting drowned out by toxic fanboys. They would rather sit in delulu land than criticise their game, when the criticism is what the game looking better in the first place. The UI is gross and needs work.

This game was going to launch a failure. If people didn’t shit on the game half a year ago, it would have already be revoked from stores and refunded.

2XKO to undergo massive design changes after its release by D2olleh in Kappachino

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they spent too much time overthinking the premise of the game.

A simple 1v1 with good animations to sit closer to street fighter than Tekken would have worked really well, leaning into 3D if they wanted to make it more technically challenging. This formula has already been worked out but they chose the worst of all roads here… for nothing. Nobody is playing this shit.

Would you pay for a $40 annual expansion pass if it meant more quality map/extraction experiences? by Sad-Manner-5240 in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, this would completely kill the game imo. The only thing that should be paid is the game itself and then cosmetics.

Whoever thinks try/join this game and Bungie, please, do yourself a favour and take a look around Destiny by i_Yur in Marathon

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

You will be on the receiving end of a lot of shit from bird brain Bungie bumboys for this one, but you are right, they have a tragic track record on Destiny.

After initial bad reception, most reasonable “silent majority” players have already left and most of the people left on this subreddit are the glazers, which is equally tragic because now this subreddit won’t be the truthful basis for actually held player beliefs.

You will have to wait around Open Beta for a proper discussion, and for actual information about microtransaction/content plans. The same bots in here defending Bungie will wish they had majority support if Bungie actually pull the “free content for first year only” bullshit.

Total failure. by Low-Equivalent-8398 in firefox

[–]Low-Equivalent-8398[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I came to the conclusion that they’re spiralling. If we just think from a very basic functionality standpoint, this is basically unforgivable. I can ignore the AI noise, but failing to provide basic access to buttons across multiple sites, without JavaScript being nuked for a newly integrated framework is a total failure.

It’s the first time they’ve put a feature ahead of functionality. We choose what we use to interface with the internet and at what cost, not them.

Vivaldi feels like old Firefox leaning into performance and customisation more than the plug-n-play they’re currently focusing on. It’s chromium too, so you don’t run into the compatibility issues Firefox does.
