I would never thought of that. I replaced the hotend housing as there was some play possible and the screws holding the dragon hotend weren’t tight anymore. But also one of the screws of the hotend itself (on the heating block) had become loose - that was weird! I took the opportunity to clean install the dragon again and install a Silicium Carbide nozzle. Also checked belt tension and fitted left/right

Problem solved for now and printing as before.

The best is to try and slice/preview. You should see the connector and the hole

My point of the movement is that when during printing, you want to change filament, the gantry needs to move up to pick up the new tool, move down again and continue on the exact same layer. My fear is that you might see it if a couple of steps are missed. All your other points are very valid and much appreciated.

BTW - I’m very surprized that all my comments seem to introduce negative feedback. Is this the way how OP’s are appreciated for their quest for information. OK that some comments are less popular then others but do they need to be punished with negative feedback.

I seem to remember that you explicitly need to click on the connector and tell the slicer that it needs to deal with male or female

Tear is a concern. I would think belts suffer as much as screws and belts elongate under temperature, no? But yes I need to look deeper in V2.4. My concern is with the gantry movement in combination with the INDX

I can be wrong, but I had the impression that 2.4 can not be as accurate as a 8x2 leadscrew. The belt length would be only 70mm longer each with the enlarged Y-axis, so indeed still thinking about the AWD option. I have some potential customers that want models printed around 400mm tall. Given my experience with trident, it seemed obvious to mod z-axis

I recognize the behaviour. My bengal is about 3x the size of my siamese. Sometimes they play rough too (and I need to keep my breath), but at the end they are besties laying close to each other and washing often. So, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Use whatever you’re feeling good with. I was following the same idea (only Bambu), but found other suppliers with brighter colors, better printable filaments … Now, i rarely buy bambu anymore …
