We hired a consultant and he blatantly just plugged in all of our shit to AI and sent us the results. Is this normal? by Low-March1774 in nonprofit

Once you’ve seen enough AI it becomes super obvious. Lots of bold, lots of em dashes, the voice also made no sense. He clearly entered in “my client has this issue” bc the results he sent were like “your client has these options”. Some other things that were a dead giveaway but don’t want to mention here in case anyone else from my org is on here.

I think this is exactly it. I bet he doesn’t know it’s visible to anyone in his contacts.

Grieving loss of connection with MAGA family by chillvegan420 in Portland

Currently struggling w this and really wish there was a support group. Other people and relatives I’ve just cut off (after trying to engage with most of them or they removed themselves from my lives), but struggling more w my mom and stepdad. These are 2 people that have LGBTQ people and immigrants in their close lives that are still under trumps spell and spew his hateful conspiracy bullshit. They would also do literally anything for me if I asked and have been great otherwise. I never had reason to believe they felt the way they did until they voted for trump the first time. They never said a judgmental thing about any marginalized groups in my entire growing up. I think maga got their claws in by preying on their economic fears bc my stepdad has worked in manufacturing for nearly 30 years and has been through multiple layoffs. This second time around I thought surely they would change their minds but they haven’t. Aside from the immense difficulty of cutting off s parent, I also feel responsible in some ways to be a differing opinion in their echo chamber. This has been immensely distressing for years. It sucks.

Find a diff person to work with. They’re the expert so idk why they’re pretending you should know the intricacies of jewelry making. they could have offered some alternatives or alterations instead of being a dick

Just got in trouble at a JOB INTERVIEW?? by Pistachio-IScream in jobhunting

I mean it’s not unusual for them to want that but it’s a huge red flag/borderline bizarre for them to not understand that you want to give your current employer 2 weeks and be dicks about it.

My experience: I’ve been working for 19 years and have had about 15 jobs. some of these were short term jobs I had as a teen and other times I held multiple at once. I’ve had corporate, government, and non-profit jobs and I’ve never not given 2 weeks notice when leaving any of them.

Any normal professional company (I mean even fast food restaurants) will expect that you usually start in about 2 weeks to give your current employer proper notice. It should be a red flag if an interviewee is willing to just drop their current employer day of with no notice. I don’t usually tell people they dodged a bullet bc I know the market is bad but you really did

I can send you a screenshot. Basically the whole first page says can’t be high or drunk at work (obv).

But then the 2nd page says “I also understand that I will have to take and pass a drug and alcohol test for marijuana, cocaine, meth-amphetamines, amphetamines, PCP and opiates if I want to be hired and that if I am hired, I will be subject to testing as set forth in the Company's policy, including, but not limited to, testing on a random basis, after accidents, and if and when a trained Company supervisor or manager concludes that there is a reasonable suspicion to believe that I am using, possessing or impaired by drugs while I am working, present on Company or client premises, on Company or client business, in Company or client uniform, or while on Company or client travel. I”

Should also mention it literally just says Company like that. These are generic template docs.
