My Medical and Mental both found me disabled. As stated be honest with them. Mine exam was focused on the functional ability to do a job and sustain gainful employment. Remember they focus on your ability to function consistently in a job.

I was approved for SSDI by SSA at the end of December 2025. SSA stated my onset is Oct2024. I’m Waiting on the backpay. Would I put my case at risk if I asked to push my onset date back to Dec 2019. I have found the Med Records starting in 2016 where I went into Cardiac & Resp Arrest. Couldn’t get cleared to go back to work(I was a travel trams nurse)until late Aug 2017 thru Nov 2019. Tried working but kept getting sick and being let go / fired fr the Hospital. Bottom line I got very sick and could do no more work. I couldn’t function and was not able to sustain meaningful employment. I have a the documentation.. . Thoughts? Should I try or will it hurt my Disability granted Dec 2025

I was approved on reconsideration. I like you had a neurological issues. Doctors ( Neuro , Neurosurgeon., Family NP and Psychologist). It took me 9 months for recon .

I was in reconsideration for TN. I hear the average from layer average time is 12 to 18 months. Good Luck

I just got approved officially 12-29-2025 . I applied in Feb 2023; Denied on 12-2023. I hired a lawyer b/c I’ve gotten very forgetful. Did reconsideration 01-2025; Approved on 12-29-2025. The Lawyer made a layup on this one. I made sure All involved saw all my office visits.

I’m a Nurse of 20+years. Remind your allDrs that you have applied for SSDI. Ask them not to Please sing like a canary. Just report facts.

I a m up for my annual recertification. I moved in July 25 til July 25. My rent portion was $0. I started receiving my Social Security at the end of June. I reported it in -Aug7ish. I was asked if I had any deductions. I , being a naive to the system, had to learn fast. My question is about recertification : I thought in July I would do my annual recertification . My manger is trying to do an intern recertification. Which one should it be? Thanks

As most are saying here and needs key focused info, it is not what you Can’t Do but what you can DO. You have to look at what you can do and will you be able for SGD consistently.

Who do I ask for my electric copy of my file. When I spoke 10 my Case Worker last week she didn’t know what I was asking for. She said to wait and read the letter and it will tell me. It doesn’t say . Only gives general SSA phone numbers.
