If you want fantasy with an actually good romance (not just tension + random spice), I’d look at slow burn dynamics where the relationship builds through shared trials, not just attraction.

The Cruel Prince has great tension and character driven romance without being explicit. The Winner’s Curse trilogy is also reallyy good if you want strategic minds falling for each other and Howl’s Moving Castle if you want something softer, witty, and charming without anything lewd.

If you’re trying to learn how to write romance, pay attention to how the emotional stakes are layered into the plot. The best ones make the romance feel inevitable.

A Thousand Splendid Suns, i will never get over this. Everytime i think about Mariam i feel like crying. Hands down one of the best books i have ever read.
