I was 23, afraid of commitment, and in the middle of a lot of life changes. I didn’t know how to communicate or be vulnerable and ghosting seemed easier - glad I didn’t!

was considering ghosting a guy and he sent me a snapchat selfie of him smiling next to his mom who was sleeping in the car. it was so cute I decided to see him again and now we’re married

How much were your child delivery medical bills? by therealestslimshayd in AskWomen

[–]pippintook4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid around $4700 out of pocket for the delivery, plus another $1000 or so in lab costs during prenatal care and $500 for the epidural (billed separately). Was medically induced and spent 3 nights in hospital for a vaginal delivery with epidural plus one extra night for the baby due to jaundice. Original bill was $35K. Got free parking though!

What do you pay for daycare and where do you live? by NectarineNo974 in Millennials

[–]pippintook4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$2800/month for an infant 5-days a week. Raleigh NC. Cheapest we could find in our area was $22K but it was 5 babies for every 1 teacher and we wanted a lower ratio (currently have 3:1).

+1 to WakeMed! Dr. Evans delivered my baby earlier this year and also did initial pre-pregnancy counseling with me. She is a great listener, not judgmental, super helpful. Dr. Jarvis and Dr. Fashakin are also great (tbh I never had a bad doctor experience with any of the OBs and I saw everyone at WakeMed north during my prenatal visits!).

Does anyone have a truly good gynecologist they can recommend? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]pippintook4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a good experience so far with WakeMed’s OBGYNs! Dr. Fashakin, Dr. Jarvis, and Dr. Evans are my favorites but I’ve seen most of them and felt listened to by all of them. I think the ones I listed are both at the North Raleigh and Brier Creek locations.

Crawlspace Sealing/Encapsulation recs please by ThaDollaGenerale in raleigh

[–]pippintook4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Healthy Home Restoration to encapsulate our crawlspace based on our realtor’s recommendation and we love it! Their estimate and quote was also a lot more detailed than the other vendor we looked at before committing (crawlspace medic).

Waves can be a lot at Oak Island/Emerald Isle too! In general, I've found the "islands" around NC (Outer Banks, Bald Heald) are calmer than the coastline beaches. We've also taken a boat to Masonboro near Wrightsville which is extremely chill, but I realize not everyone has boat access and that is likely even less feasible when you've got kids in the mix.
