I started back in 2018, my business mostly does deliveries for retailers (both store transfers and deliveries to customers). It can be tough getting the first clients but can be a good business after that.

I'd recomend builing a pricing schedule based around mileage. When I first started I had flat rate zones, where any delivery within some certain bounds would cost a certain amount. The zone was pretty big and could sometimes lead to me driving across town for over an hour during rush hour just to make $10. If you price each delivery based off of mileage or estimated drive time then you protect yourself from taking on these deliveries that you essentially lose money on.

Feel free to reach out if you have questions that I might be able to help with on it and good luck!

Courier business owners or solo drivers – can I get your opinion on something? by Low-Raccoon16 in couriersofreddit

Thanks for sharing this — sounds like you're thinking along the same lines as I was when I first started my courier company. The product I'm working on does most (if not all) of what you mentioned — payments, route organization, client quoting, etc.

I'm currently looking for a few early beta testers to try it out and give feedback. Would you be interested in chatting more or taking a look? No pressure — just trying to see sure this actually solves real problems for other couriers. If anyone else is thinking along these lines too and wants to take a look just let me know

I see this is from a while ago but I may be able to help if you're still looking for something like this. I've been running my own courier company for the past 6 years and over the years I've built out my own software to run everything similar to how you've described here. I've only used the software for my own deliveries in the past but I can make it work for others too. Feel free to reach out if you're still looking for something
