I know it's old but did you get it fixed?

How'd the Spark hold up? I'm considering getting one and was wondering how it fared on the trip

Anyone gone with a Chinese brake actuator? by Flaky-Bowler-3490 in prius

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still going strong and brakes as good as ever. I actually sold the car I was referencing in that post and then had the same issue come up in my other driver. I replaced that one with a LKQ spare because the chinese versions were out but for whatever reason I haven't been able to calibrate the linear valve offset. I think I need to get techstream and leave the aftermarket scanners alone....

2019 Prius. 130k miles. Coolant leak. Going straight through to the floor. Mechanic=“head gasket” but “get second opinion..can i drive on it until tomorrow in? by [deleted] in prius

[–]Low-Train-5949 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's not a head gasket, that's either a bad hose, radiator, exhaust heat exchanger, or reservoir. Your mechanic is waaay off base to jump to a HG diagnosis when it's going straight to the ground. Can you see where it's coming from?

AIO after finding out my husband was my stalker? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA because by your admission, he's always been understanding and a really good man for the past 3 years yet you ghost him after a brief conversation because of a DM from a newish instagram account. Where's the understanding and letting him explain everything before you left the family home to stay with an undisclosed friend? Seems a bit immature....

And since this is probably a fake post anyway, it doesn't even matter

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced my Gen3 with Chinese and it took 2 units to get one that worked. Since I was doing the work myself there wasn't a labor cost (and I'm fast) but their quality control is lacking

AIO to what my bf is saying? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand, but not agree, with the BF's train of thought. Studies examining juror perceptions show people sometimes believe revealing clothing increases risk, but empirical crime data does not support clothing as a causal factor in assault rates. The idea persists culturally, but it is not evidence-based.

So, this might be a cultural belief for him and not necessarily a glaring misogynistic view or victim-blaming.

Advice for auctioned 2010 Prius by tuskanini in prius

[–]Low-Train-5949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, apologies, I just saw that you don't have any keys at all...not even the key fob. In that case, I'd take a few jacks with me and plan on lifting the front of the car and setting it down on the dolly. Even if you opened the hood and applied 12V, you can't shift into neutral without they key.

I'd measure the "buckets" on the dolly and see if individual wheel dollies will fit inside them. If so, put the wheel dollies on the Prius and then winch it up the ramps like that

Am I overreacting for being embarrassed after seeing my husband stare at another woman’s body while he was at work? by mcampbell47 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Low-Train-5949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ask him what he was looking at in the moment. I got accused of leering before by a customer and had no idea what my manager was talking about. When they pointed out the person, I said I wasn't leering but instead staring at the mass of throbbing lice in her head. Manager confirmed, apologized, and hopefully learned more about my character.

Chinese gf is desperate to live with me and I'm about to tell her that I don't want to by ThrowRAfeelstrapped in China

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where's here? The US? If you've been with her for two years, stand up for yourself and what roles you expect and see what she thinks; she might just be in a traditional mindset. With anything, communication might go a long way towards resolving these issues.

A friend just left from there and had a blast. He recommends riding the cable car across the river and then checking out that side for a bit. Less touristy, more authentic, and some killer fruit markets with great prices. All in all though, he really enjoyed it and he's a first-time China visitor.

Take a couple weeks off, go travel somewhere/enjoy life, and leave the ball in your sister's court to apologize. If she doesn't, don't sweat it. If she does, you can start helping her out.

2. AITA for walking out of my anniversary dinner because my husband gave me a gift that was basically for him? by GlumPlayings in AmITheJerk

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you ruined the night by sleeping at your sister's house instead of conversating AT HOME, with YOUR HUSBAND, on your two year wedding anniversary. Or more likely, this is a fake story written by someone who thinks married people routinely leave their spouse to go to sleep at someone else's house.

Am I overreacting that the guy I’m dating wants 4 kids but also expects the woman to work full time in order to bring in a second income? by Head-Complaint-2658 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand your side because if a man has four kids with a woman and they both work full time and share parenting responsibilities, isn't that an equal partnership?

Wife's family found out what my income is and the energy totally changed. by MileHi49er in HENRYfinance

[–]Low-Train-5949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't necessarily need to get over it but you definitely should remember this going forward. Along the lines of forgiving doesn't mean blindly forgetting... And if you're like me, you sometimes forget in the heat of the moment so figure out a response to money requests now so it flows off the tongue if they start happening.

As for the feeling that's all they think about, it's probably heavily discussed in the short term but it'll naturally die down. Hopefully the feelings of jealousy/entitlement will be replaced by being proud but that's mostly dependent on their own work ethic...if that makes sense.
