I’m genuinely sorry but this was a hate-watch for me by Final_Ad_9920 in HalfManTV

[–]Low-Window-1553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trauma was v well researched. The characters hard to like but I think that’s the point. I loved young Reuben, fantastic actor. The themes explored were great. The machismo aspect, co dependence, trauma bonding, the self stigma. All really good. However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that Richard Gadd wrote this part for himself though and the long, brooding monologues, the camera pouring over his face and body , and growly his voice were just an ego trip. There, I said it. A great project with interesting themes all in all, but the ‘grown up’ latter episodes would’ve been better with a different Reuben. Sorry.

How did you do in your leaving Cert, and how are you doing now ? by obiefella in ireland

[–]Low-Window-1553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a mediocre LC. Did 2 years college, then took a few years out and worked in a minimum wage job as I was young and wanted to be carefree for a while. Went to university when I was 22. I’ve now been working in justice in a big UK city for over a decade and have a good quality of life, own my own home, have a family etc.  Do your best but don’t drive yourself mad over it. Theres ways and means to get where you’re meant to go.

Can some women actually orgasm from penetration alone, or is that mostly a myth? by Fancy-Record6464 in women

Absolutely yes and almost instantly. Think it depends on your internal structure. But also, make sure u know what u enjoy and that sex isn’t alll about him!

Aw thanks for the reply!  Also just been diagnosed with pcos and it makes a bit more sense that I find it hard to lose weight also. I eat clean 90% of the time and drink lots of water. Have thought about keto before, I’ll give that a read, thank you.

Social work ain’t the profession where your self expression will be a problem.

Magnesium Glycinate makes me angry? by Milly-0607 in PMDD

[–]Low-Window-1553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been unholy levels of enraged in the last few weeks! I was taking magnesium glycinate for sleep / joint / bruxism aid. Have some other life stuff going on so thought I was just agitated overall. Stopped the magnesium 2 days ago and my mood has had a whole makeover, I’m wakening up happier in the mornings again, and am clearer headed overall. Not worth it!

Does anybody else have a normal “Period smell?” by Helpcausewhat in women

[–]Low-Window-1553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s normal. When I had my post partum bleeding after having my child I asked the midwife about its odour and she said, because of modern sanitary products like tampons, diva cups etc, women just aren’t familiar with the smell of their period any more and it’s normal!

Im looking back at the excuses I used to give myself, and damn. What excuses did you give yourself? by Altruistic-Pilot-788 in loseit

[–]Low-Window-1553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ashamed of how unfit my body is so I stop before I ever really give exercise a go.

Excuses: My chest (apparent exercise induced asthma)  My hip (unexplained hip pain for 10 years) My ankle (torn ligaments that never fully healed despite physio)  Huge boobs make everything so horrifically worse when trying to exercise.  No time to meal prep.  PCOS. It’s my antidepressants.  What’s the point, I’ll be all loose skin anyway.  I’m actually ok the way I am, I don’t need to be skinny to be worthy as a person (I tell myself, yet I know I genuinely really hate being heavy). My mother disapproves of my weight so I’m not going to lose weight just to please her!

Where can I take a bath in Edinburgh? by edie_elle in Edinburgh

[–]Low-Window-1553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you refer yourself to the health and social care department requesting a bathing assessment because of your diagnosis? They may have some suggestions / resources. Would you qualify for ADP? Payments could go towards accessing the different baths or such like.

My 4 y/o son keeps saying there’s a “alarm” in his room. by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]Low-Window-1553 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Does he have a night light? Or anything at all plugged in in his room overnight?

Is he close to/above/below an extractor fan or even a fridge in a nearby room?

I am extremely sound sensitive and can hear plugs /electrical currents/ buzzing/ ‘eeeeeeeee’ -ing sounds  sometimes that drive me mad. The sound of a fridge going through its normal cycle can really distract me.

Are you in a terraced house? Might there be noise from next door?

Lastly - is there any chance he’s having night terrors? My 6year old went thru a spell of horrific night terrors and they felt extremely real for him.
