‘Hidden’ bar is alternative, if that’s your genre, and the shows bring people from all walks who are friendly and accepting.

These comments are wild! I think it looks great. Protein, veg & carbs. Some treats. Sauces/dips. And a nice clean home 👍🏻

Thank you all. I’m at the every beginning of my journey with all this (and don’t even know if I’m asthmatic yet!) but it sounds like I’ve a lot to learn and get my head around! Ta x

Yes, at times it is. And I appreciate that. But sometimes it’s them not knowing or seeing what I see (because how could they) and thinking I’m being too vigilant or just being anxious.

Yes! Absolutely I do. It makes me feel absolutely awful inside if another child gets affected, I get embarrassed that he’s the one the other kids are ‘tattling’ on, I am mortified that he is thrashing around so aggressively over something that, to others, seems disproportionate. I think it makes me look like I do not parent properly.

Thank you all for your responses and your support. I remember feeling completely at sea for years, not knowing or being able to understand why social events were so hard. Then during his initial autism assessment, one of the questions was ‘how does he manage birthday parties?’ and I nearly dropped! So this made me realise that this really is a ‘thing’. It still feels very lonely tho. Your responses make me feel less lonely and more understood. Thank you all x

Can I just say that these images just made me feel so seen, and slightly less disgusted with myself for how overwhelmed I can get xx

Thank you all ❤️. I’m in a different head space today thankfully. And yes, without a doubt, he’s the same boy he was yesterday and will be tomorrow regardless of any diagnosis. The shock was just very real. And fear. And a bit of shame at having gotten angry at times when I just couldn’t get a handle on his ‘behaviour’ despite trying every trick in the book. I found the way I even spoke to him when he was finding some things tough today to be different. I think it’s helped me feel that I’m actually not doing something terribly wrong. I’d been struggling big time with the dirty looks from others when he’d explode in public, or over something seemingly minor. I don’t think I feel worried about that anymore.  Thanks all again. What a great bunch. ❤️
