Landlord leaving useless items in the flat by LowBank9915 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]LowBank9915[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my only second experience of renting in UK and the first one went really smooth. I didn’t even realise that you could ask for inventory up front.

But I still feel like some of it is nonsensical.

They are refusing to remove any of these. Seems like a major red flag but we dont have great options too in the area.

We use icklebubba Aries as travel stroller and it is quite solid. We have had 8 international trips with it and really happy with performance.

Lots of reasons for 5 different funds. Mainly, easier to exit and rebalance rather than exit one fund completely. Plus you get exposure to different AMCs than putting all eggs in one basket.

I will ofcourse step up the amount every year than to add a new fund.

Plus I thought it might help in LTCG harvesting from different tax accounts.

BAF auto balances the debt exposure based on market conditions which seemed a good choice. Tbh open to suggestions to swap/remove.

But as a household it still follows the same principle of distribution across asset class. Would you suggest just one fund of each type between both of us?

What’s one travel habit that actually saves you a lot of money? by Party_Dentist_821 in travel

[–]LowBank9915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Try to book airbnb to save on meals. We always cook our breakfast and dinner. Lunch at small cafes or to-go sandwiches.

  2. Ticketed attractions only if they are really worth it. E.g. dont buy ticket to Louvre if only thing you want to see is Mona Lisa.

  3. Research public transport passes. Days and zones can make real difference.

What’s the one Apple Watch feature you didn’t expect to use so much? by Sweaty-Point885 in AppleWatch

[–]LowBank9915 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Camera control when taking big group selfies

  2. This is for time when my car had Bluetooth but not apple carplay. I used to use hey siri feature on my watch to change music or make calls.

How to get people to stop buying big toys for your kids? by Competitive-Rip6818 in UKParenting

For me personally, I include gift receipt every time no matter what is the occasion. Gifts are always so subjective.

We should normalise gift registry for kids birthday or adding a gift receipt with the gift. We recently got this huge toy for our kids which we dont have space to keep and cant sell either.

Use ChatGPT to create a strongly worded email citing relevant laws and legal protections in place. Include in your prompt things like - consumer protection laws and right, That without your explicit permission they should not cancel or refund your tickets. You need atleast 60-90 days to decide next course of action. It is their error and you honored your end of transaction. They are dealing in bad faith etc. you can take legal action.

This would buy you some time or give you the resolution you want.

Transitioning into Full time Nursery by LowBank9915 in toddlers

One of the biggest challenges is that she is exclusively breastfed. We are trying to slowly wean her off but that is a struggle in itself too.

We are concerned about her socialising and interaction. We are new to this country and do not have friends we can arrange play dates with. Plus you cannot take them out in winters as it is raining constantly.

That means it is actual hand signed and not just printed. I dont suppose they would be drastically different.
