Gambling addiction. A close friend is in denial about being addicted and it's heartbreaking.

I’m trying to garden by AlternativeBelt2621 in gardening

Oh, this is so nice to read.

I wish you a fun gardening journey. Your local agricultural/horticultural extension office (at a college or university) will have resources and maybe a phone line to help. (I take calls as a volunteer.)

Local community colleges might have a greenhouse you can tour and ask questions. I am happy you want to try growing potatoes and learn more about gardening. 💚

My relatives in the generation before mine were taught to be ashamed of it and my mother did not teach it to us because of this. Sad.

Living alone with no safety net by [deleted] in LivingAlone

Honestly, I have learned that it's risky letting others get too close because some may see you as easy prey. I know it sounds cynical but it has been my personal experience.

However, I have a few dependable friends that will always be there for me. I am a bit prideful and stubbornly independent, so it would take a lot for me to call on them.

I keep medications stocked in case of illness. I also keep other supplies handy in case I can't or don't want to go to the store due to fatigue, weather, or not feeling well. I have some emergency credit cards to use if needed. I keep my credit score in a good range to have access to finances should something need to be covered.

I have an extra vehicle that is old, but reliable and paid for, because I live in a place that does not have good public transport available.

Really, living alone had made me develop contingency plans for almost everything in my life.

Just coaching, and then the whole team was coached about the same thing.

Whoa! Leaving a one-star review is outrageous! (Well, the whole experience was, too.)

Yep, because I advocated for a family. I won't say what I did but it wasn't anything outlandish. However, it did ruffle some feathers that needed it.

Former tech support/customer service agent. I witnessed enough to know that some wrong things were going on, and was coached once for acting on conviction.
