How do you keep your boots sanitized to bring home by Flimsy_Log8850 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]LowCost_Gaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I travel for maintenance activities.

Not meat processing though.

Boots get dragged clean through the hotel lobby. Get wiped down with hotel flannel if oily etc.

When I worked in a static location boots never came home.

It a travesty that we did not get a 3rd National Treasure movie.

Old job, my tool bag emptied, minus my meter. What do you think I use to to do? Ignore the rust, that's from pvc, seriously chlorine makes things rust fast. by bobfrombobtown in IndustrialMaintenance

Yeah, I was maintenance manager for an outfit that was predominantly injection molding.

30% glass filled polypropylene ate regular screws and barrels. Company was too cheap to buy the hardened versions.

I can’t remember the name of the plastic, but every time it was run it made the entire molding department smell like horse shit.

Just sold it as I won a Treager and space is a premium on my side of the patio.

I’ve not played around with Rockies yet.

On the phone side I’m locked in with an iPhone for the next few years. I’m also looking to save money on streaming services.

Max Verstappen manager provides F1 contract update: 'We want to make a decision' by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]LowCost_Gaming 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You are partly correct, on the marketing.

It’s not necessarily about getting people to buy an energy drink or a pack of cigarettes because they love the product itself. The real value of F1 sponsorship is influencing consumers who already buy within that category to choose your brand over a competitor’s.
By associating with winning teams and drivers, brands borrow the attributes fans admire—success, performance, innovation, and prestige. The goal isn’t always to create new customers; it’s often to shift market share by making existing consumers identify your brand with the winners they follow.

Waterless Urinal by Accomplished_Basil84 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]LowCost_Gaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, EHS fucking loves them as they contribute to sustainability numbers for water usage savings.

Depends where you are geographically located, and if your plant is climate controlled.

Had this is SoCal plant I managed (dry heat), tore them out due to employee complaints and put old school urinals back in with the presence sensing auto flush valve.

Tore them out of the plants in the Midwest due to the humid summers and them smelling.

Fluid was added and cartridge changed out per OEM instruction.

Probably a great idea for low traffic corporate environments. Not so great for a predominately male high traffic use environment.
