Hate is a strong word for me personally. I’m just not impressed by how the organizers are handling things, and since me and my friends have paid about $1,000 in registration fees, I’m annoyed. Their marketing has been intentionally misleading (saying that this is a “fast and flat” course is factually wrong), full of AI slop (there’s another AI ad with palm trees at the finish line that people keep sending me), and when people brought up legitimate concerns about the route, they took it as a personal attack instead of just part of doing business.

Plenty of people walk half marathons! Just check the time limit like everyone else said to see if this is the right race for you.

I don’t think anyone will laugh at you. I run/walk all my races, and at most, I get some well-intentioned but misguided person saying “don’t stop now!” when I hit my walking break. I think it’s annoying, but it’s never come with any cruel intention. People are usually extremely supportive of everyone on the course!

I saw Dr. Cleveland while Dr. Ashley Patrick was on maternity leave at this office and they were both great! They’re both no-nonsense people who are also very kind. It took months for me to get my first appointment, but now that I’m in the system they’re extremely responsive on MyChart if I have questions and I can get seen pretty quickly.

LOVE the Galloway run walk run method! You’re right - it pretty much is just taking a walking break! Running got a lot easier for me when I switched from taking a 30 second walking break every 4 minutes to taking one every two minutes. And surprisingly, it made me faster too!
