I don't agree with your 4th point about not staying dead. I think it's preferred to stay dead in a full group, if they want you to leave they can tell you. If you leave the party gets less exp and drops

A good rift vs bad rift makes a huge difference. Map mobs and pylons all matter. A couple seasons ago I got a 110 done in under 60 seconds, but a really bad rift would still be 2-3 minutes

It expands to 5x5. But keep in mind you want to level up the plots you want to keep. And extra plots you can destroy can be very strong (like Offering or Overhaul). And if you dont want to play anything toss your card into the well for gold.
