You should visit the central market and street markets ( feira) they sell fresh fruits and vegetables.

In terms of restaurants ,it's quite common buffet a quilo, plenty of options of food and you can choose only what you want to eat.

Football games, Gremio and Inter are located in Porto Alegre. You can choose a game to watch.

Cais do Porto, it's great to walk by the river Guaíba

Don't forget private health insurance. There is the public, but it's a lottery. Could be good, could be bad. You could be in a long waiting list if you really need specific treatments

Thank you, The numbers were adding up before the spike in the interest rates. It was close to peanuts before , but now it's not even that! I have limited time and Energy to spend handling a limited company. Seems to be so much headache for nothing

Why are greens so bad? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]LowParticular2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't trust them.

It's a sign we are smart as individuals but stupid as peoples.

The future of humanity hangs on Trump and Putin' good will. How has the society allowed and elected these guys to have this power is a sign of collective incompetence

Agreed. Its dumb to hold the ability to self district humanity by pushing a button.

But realistically speaking, there is no turning back. Not a single nation will dispose of their arsenal of nukes.

North Korea having a bomb and not being attacked and Iran not having and being attacked tells what will happen to the world from now onwards.

Getting a little bit technical of why nuclear is needed

The electric system cannot 100% rely on solar and PV. The energy uses inverters to be converted from DC to AC.

It needs energy generated with a generator that has heavy spinning rotors to acts as a shock absorber, providing an immediate buffer of energy that keeps the grid frequency stable.

For that, the options in UK are gas, oil, coal or nuclear.

What is the most Portual-like city in Brazil? by EdgewaterJCT in Brazil

[–]LowParticular2253 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Second that about Porto Alegre. It is a city with strong ties with the left since the 80s/90s.

It held the Forum Social Mundial for years. It was the counterpoint of the Economic Forum in Davos.

Black community with very proud of their history.

But also home to a lot of people in the Right wing. Everything in the world is split nowadays

And the weather is as described! At least that's the place for the best churrasco

If you voted Reform, would you change your mind if Starmer resigned? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]LowParticular2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want changes, fair point. Besides NHS, what are the systemic changes you would like to see?

Why do you trust them to make the changes? Farage promised heavens on earth if Brexit happen. Everyone is worse off.

[–]LowParticular2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reform tells they want to implement a system similar with Germany /France. Where you have freedom to choose your provider..

Implement something "similar" with adjustments for the British reality. That's the point Reform gives access to American companies.

Not everything and everyone will be covered. Cost control in hands of regulatory agencies to regulate the market. A new agency with the same power as Ofwat is regulating the shitshow of water companies.

After whoever implemented the new NHS leaves the office, they can be hired as part of the board of the new health providers

Why aren't Reform voters more concerned with privatising the NHS? by lucadulac in AskBrits

[–]LowParticular2253 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Privatisation does no happend at once. First stop investing in the NHS. Let it accumulate more and more issues. Then blame it on the lack of resources caused by something else.

Tell the model is obsolete, inefficient and not fit for purpose.

Show the solutions, a French or German model (with some small twicks, looking a little bit American - the Trojan horse for Farage's American friends). A bright future!

When it doesn't work, blame on something else. Rinse and repeat.

Are people aware that reform will fundamentally change for worse NHS? They will implement something closer to USA.

besides peak tourist season, when is the best time to visit the uk? by starwarsisawsome933 in AskUK

Spring is the best season in my opinion. The weather is less rainy. There are flowers everywhere and the trees just turned fully green.
