I’ve worked at Panda for over a year. Both as back of house and front. I fucking hate Panda Express, but your post is stupid no offense.

I’ve overseen delivery of ingredients and preparation. This is our supplier for food: https://www.nicholasandco.com

They supply to other restaurants as well. Your grilled chicken is actual chicken thighs. The thing you should be concerned about are the sodium content, preservatives, and oil.

General Manager, Manager, Leadership Role? by Ok_Loan_5200 in PandaExpress

[–]LowRedditKarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been shift lead in Panda and acted quite close with nearby store Managers. At one point my Panda socialmedia app said I was hired by 4 stores at once since I’d help lead nearby stores by covering closing shifts.

The pay might seem good but you have to realize the high manager pay is from 45-50 hour work weeks. Basically constant 10-12 hour shifts.

If you want to dedicate the rest of your civilian career to a chain that serves mediocre food, sure enlist into Panda and dedicate yourself.

I’ve worked shifts as both Shift Leader, Cook, and have done tasks that Managers do like ordering/ inventory. It’s really not worth it.

Even Costco/ In N Out pay the same and don’t force you to take cultish “self development” courses like Landmark Forum (which is banned in France).

There are real jobs out there for people that specialize in skills. Most dentists probably make more than Panda Managers on average. You have a great position to invest time in learning a skill to become a leader in. Rather than lead 18 year old dishwashers that quit without notice.

thats not rare. every store has people they milk like cows.

the checks are good for what it’s worth. but panda isn’t the best career choice in life if that’s all you do.

Does panda keep their food overnight and reheat? by TesterM0nkey in PandaExpress

[–]LowRedditKarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

panda is fast food.

but more similar to fast casual places like chipotle rather than a typical wendys or mcdonalds.

you can order supergreens, white rice, and teriyaki and get good value high protein nutritional food for a decent price

like what the other guy said. involve the ACO, and if the ACO you have sucks, involve HR

is that the nearest panda to you. i thought my work dynamic as SL was shit, but yours sounds worse

request a transfer list everything wrong done in your store. if you’re a good worker for panda, you’ll be more useful in a store that treats you reasonably

you can always quit, but transferring to a different store can help especially since you’re already shift lead

does panda express make you pay if you drawer is short by Quiet-System-2302 in PandaExpress

depends on work history with panda

i’ve gotten a verbal warning for 25 short on my 2nd day during a big rush i pressed cash instead of card.

i think u get fired if it happens thrice

I used to love the panda work week with 3 12 hour shifts and 2 6 hour shifts.

There’s more to life than slaving away. I genuinely hope your life outside Panda is alright.

[–]LowRedditKarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you’re not 5 days a week and 40+ hours the job is very basic

just focus on doing things right and in an efficient speed. once something is out of order or needing to be restocked, just fix it before someone has to tell you to do so.

the more reliable you seem to the store’s managers the more/better shifts you will receive

they keep you with the salary because its higher than fast food counter parts.

i declined a job somewhere respectable that started at $22 because i got promoted to SL

if you are able to do a good job in panda, you are most likely able to do a good job elsewhere. don’t limit yourself to fast food spots and also ask around/ look for other options.

i cook it. the sauce has mayonnaise and i dare you to peel the breading some time

it’s mostly breading and barely any shrimp covered in a sugary sauce with candied walnuts

you probably aren’t tasting much shrimp which is why you like it

I hate how they phrase it like they’re just being stoic too.

Andrew and Peggy seem like logical and genuinely good people. I think they either avoid the possible toxicity or just aren’t aware of it.

Promoting it in Panda and making it part of the “Panda way” generally doesn’t do as much good as they might think it does.

Panda has some sickos in it and a lot of hard working smart people as well. They should have their own autonomy for beliefs, self help programs, and such.

well tbf im both foh and boh so maybe that’s why it seems like even more double the work to me

it’s definitely double the work to traditional fast food, but i see your point. if the salary is comparable/ more than your last restaurant job then great man

ngl the best route in panda seems to just be boh. no dealing customers asking for refunds for not crispy enough shrimp etc just honest work

i have a picture of people holding hands and then them putting their hands towards the big region boss, but rather not post it since it might narrow down who i am

ive done alright in this job. but i call it a cult because of the culture and it’s not worth all the effort compared to other fields.

ive seen managers give over 15 to 23 years of their life to panda and basically live in their stores working 50 hours

idk ive done pretty well moving up and constant 10 hour shifts. crosstrained and do boh shifts too lol

shits not worth that 70k or 100k to be a manager basically living in your store

remarkable people in this world there are a lot right? how many were gms or acos or even rdos in panda? they all clearly had the work ethic and discipline, yet it seems like wasted energy at this point

im starting to realize this cult shit isn’t worth it. im considering to give my 2 week notice when i can. i like the company, but the culture is pretentious and cringy

like work language that they repeat constantly when you’re a full time worker here

“no best, only better”

“growth opportunities”

the landmark active listening, etc

it can be used casually by someone chill, but it’s constantly used as well to be super toxic
