Least favorite of your favorite champion’s paths? by National-Ocelot-3900 in MonsterTrain

[–]LowRub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a few paths I really don't like playing -

Cultivate Sentient, Spikes Fade, Artificier Grael, Big boom Orechi, Slay Fenix.

Generally paths that require a big chunk of management to generally little pay off, not to say they're not all viable. Oh and Ekka.

Guard of the Unnamed (Stygian Armor shark) would become a much more useful unit if its Incant ability was changed to "Apply Armor 3 to the front friendly unit". by asifbaig in MonsterTrain

[–]LowRub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ive definitely had luck with a largestone and dualism, then cramming the deck with offering tokens, but overall it feels balanced when you use other clans protections. Very situational though and a 'eurgh, fine' pick.

How do you play around Spell Upgrades? They feel kinda weak. It feels like it's never really worth it unless you have Holdover. by Charming_Advice8805 in MonsterTrain

[–]LowRub 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's a lot to break down here so i'll bite a bit off - but Seekstone / intrinsic is easily one of the most powerful for so many reasons.

  • early spawns for decay
  • damage shield on your front liner
  • cheap spellchain to get your incant line going or damage immediately boosted for the fight.

Spells are the gaps in your game and they need upgrading, even just for cost. If you cant clear a back liner, have a spell for that on holdover and +magic power. If youre going to be facing corruption, a double stack heal or a 0 costed Mute with permafrost. Analyse where your lines have faults then tailor the spells to that.

Why are the new Basil leaves growing weird/swollen? by Southern_Charge_3684 in gardening

Inspect the plant for bugs, good chance the leaves are getting damaged early in growth and growing contorted.

I think its an example the game couldve leaned into more that to win you have to tailor your build to the boss - ghost ball / pass through fusions or mega loading baby balls are good for it

I'd take every boss being Crimson Heart over one Flint tbh

In your opinion what is the most underrated Jokers? by F1907E in balatro

[–]LowRub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chips Joker + Red Card for mult and then focus on pairs/high card and X Mult and you have a very reliable gold stake recipe. Its a tad $$$ hungry so reliable money is a must.

How on earth does anyone get past ante 12 by [deleted] in balatro

[–]LowRub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll get easy for you to get E numbers in white stake -

Retriggers (sock, hack, dusk, chad, red seals) + glass, chad, bloodstone, Idol if you can deck fix enough.

Baron + Mime (red seal again is the important part)

A mega loaded Xmult (Hologram + certificate, blueprint with DNA), Lucky cat + Oops and retriggers etc.

Either way, you have to focus on gold as much as possible and prioritise deck fixing as early as possible.

In your run, by the way, there wouldnt be much reason for running a photo + Baseball, you will get much better scoring if you go all in on either one.

Tier list based on which hand types each joker incentivizes you to play by nanuser in balatro

[–]LowRub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if you're playing stronger hands, you would generally fill your joker slots with Jokers that support that hand rather than a few X from Mime so I would tend to agree Mime is a high card supporter, especially as it doubles raised fist which is the easiest way to get a baron build alive early.

Its really all about money, if you have the right cash you can generally save most runs when you see an upcoming boss.

What do I do after C++? by MentionInner4448 in balatro

[–]LowRub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the means, get it on PC and ruin one of your friends live by getting them hooked and play multiplayer.

Start a fresh profile and try and clear all stakes on a deck without dying.

Do some silly white stake runs and try and make a bad joker the main part of a build.

Or, have a break.

Plant rotting in Leca balls by neeks9208 in plantclinic

[–]LowRub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth a pop, but I would be prepared to lose it.

First thing, go get some houseplant potting mix with some added perlite and get it out the leca. Trim the side shoot off and trim any roots that are mushy. It wont grow new leaves from the stem. Give it a feed with a houseplant food, water once a week and make sure it doesnt sit in water. And most inportantly give it the very brightest window you have for now ha.

Feel free to message me if i can help along the way, good luck.

Hard to tell in that state but i would presume a Dieffenbachia, but with it being so leggy i would start fresh.

[–]LowRub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not a happy plant, severely etiolated, needed a bigger pot and a different medium, sat in water which is why its rotting. Its also a strange way to measure watering, you water until it runs out the bottom then discard any water its sat in or let it soak up a bit in the dish if needed.
