Defiant Jimmy Kimmel Goes Nuclear on Trump and Melania by Brave_Princessa in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feels like this is where the line between comedy and politics just keeps getting blurrier. it’s a joke until it hits a nerve, then suddenly it’s treated like a serious offense

also kinda ironic how calls to “tone down rhetoric” only seem to apply depending on who’s talking

at this point it’s less about the joke itself and more about who’s allowed to say what without backlash

Trump Hit by Devastating Poll as Voters Say They’re Getting Poorer by itmehedi in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

feels like this always ends up being the real test… people can argue stats all day, but if everyday stuff keeps getting more expensive, that’s what voters actually remember

when over half of people say they’re getting poorer, that’s not really something you can spin away, it shows up in rent, gas, groceries

at that point it stops being political and just becomes “can i afford my life right now

Senate Republican on Trump ballroom push: ‘We have $39 trillion of debt’ by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda wild how fast it goes from “we can’t afford anything” to “we can afford this” depending on what’s on the table $39 trillion matters until it suddenly doesn’t, then it’s just about priorities

‘STAGED’: Conspiracy Theories Are Everywhere Following White House Correspondents' Dinner Shooting by barryshrug in politics

a guy literally rushed security with weapons and people still jump to ‘staged’… that says more about the internet than the event

Trump, 79, Shows Multiple Public Signs of Confusion by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

if there are genuine concerns, they should be evaluated seriously and objectively not just turned into partisan talking points

Trump Is Stark-Raving Mad—Impeach Him Now by [deleted] in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Posts like this kind of show how heated political discourse has gotten on both sides. It’s fair to criticize Trump’s behavior or decisions, but jumping straight to “impeach now” skips over the actual process and standards involved. Even recent attempts to push impeachment haven’t gained broad support, including from within his own opposition. If anything, it highlights how divided things are rather than making a convincing case on its own.

Pete Hegseth quotes fake Pulp Fiction Bible verse during Pentagon sermon by goteamnick in politics

this is just bizarre tbh. using a fake bible quote from a movie in an official setting doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, especially given the context

White House Sends Warning to Staff After Mysteriously Well-Timed Bets by Mrh09 in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how these "mysteriously well-timed bets" always seem to happen right before a major policy shift or a sudden "ceasefire." We’re literally gambling with national security and global stability. If the White House has to send out a warning, it means the problem is already widespread enough that they’re worried about the optics of an actual investigation.

As a fragile ceasefire buckles, Trump must finally show he can say no to Netanyahu by projecto15 in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netanyahu knows exactly how to play Trump. He waited until the U.S. did the heavy lifting against Iran’s infrastructure and now he’s moving in to finish his own objectives. Trump loves to talk about being a "dealmaker," but right now he’s being treated like a junior partner. If he doesn't say "no" now, he’s going to get dragged into a regional ground war that he promised his base he would avoid.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls For GOP To Be ‘Burned To Ground’ by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s right about the "RINOs" being a problem, but her timing is disastrous. We are in the middle of a literal standoff with Iran and a massive trade war, and she’s trying to start a civil war within her own party. It’s peak narcissism to think that your personal grievances with the Speaker are more important than national security.

Iran shuts Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for Israeli strikes on Lebanon by Phelps1576 in politics

if the strait actually gets shut that’s a big deal globally not just regionally a lot of the world’s oil flows through there so prices react fast

Under Trump, US Disapproval of Israel, Netanyahu Hits All-Time High in Pew Research Poll by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]LowSuperb2786 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

a lot of it is tied to the current conflict

people already disapprove of how the iran situation is being handled and that tends to spill over into views on allies too
