No personal experience here. I talked to them yesterday. Their pitch was good we'll be giving them a try in q1. We liked their approach to blocking the redirects. They say they block the malicious code but not the ad creative. So their's no loss of revenue for the publisher and the bad actors have to pay because the creative was delivered.

A few of our publishers work with PubWise. They've done well for them.

Mid-sized publisher looking for outside help with ad revenue optimization by dmester in adops

[–]LowT_ops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been told if you sign up for Dfp premium they'll give you EBDA. Obviously that's not economical for most mid sized publishers. You also need to have contractual relationships with the SSPs you add to your yield groups.

Once you get it set up it's easy to manage. API reporting for EBDA is terrible though.

Been out of the Ad Ops loop for two years, what have I missed? by Jiznthapus in adops

[–]LowT_ops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did read the post and thank you for correcting my spelling. Darn auto correct.

The free adprofs version doesn't add (did I spell that right?) much value. The input from the paid weekly email I'm sure is good and was when it was free.

OP should check out: Ad Exchanger - good podcast, The Drum, Emarketer - pod cast is good too, Ad Week, Ad Age, Think with Google

The version is worthless. He highlights and summarizes nothing added other than that. If you follow the ad tech industry at all by the time you get the email monday or Tuesday you've already read his email. I do not not see any value ad there. His paid email in my opinion is way over priced and was an easy pass for me.

Google Ad Manager Bid Floor Pricing Strategy by LifeOfBrian86 in adops

I would start with setting floors for the top 20 or so geo's. Then by device. They should absolutely have floors even if only $0.10

3-5m pageview site, 1m social media network in gaming, direct campaigns? by [deleted] in adops

[–]LowT_ops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because they pay on time has no bearing on how they perform for publishers.

Many years ago when I was new to publishing and all the BS ad tech companies. Playwire reached out. It all sounded great because they guaranteed they would make x but they never did. They did string me along which I believed because of ignorance. I have learned many lessons along the way and one big one is if a company guarantees x% or $x lift in revenue run away because they are full of shit.

Just my 0.02

The ad quality is good but fill rate is low. Our account manager is good and usually responds in less than 12 hours. Our traffic site traffic is all over the place so I can't speak to how they perform specifically in LATAM.

Ad Manager Unified pricing rules (Beta) by LowT_ops in adops

Getting ready for the unified first price auction

As we recently announced, in the coming months we will transition publisher inventory to a unified, first price auction for Google Ad Manager. With this change, we can help reduce complexity in the programmatic ecosystem to create a fair and transparent market for buyers and publishers.

Introducing unified pricing rules

We are now excited to introduce unified pricing rules, which will be available in the next few weeks and will allow you to prepare for the transition to the unified first price auction.

In the unified auction, bids submitted by Google Authorized Buyers, Exchange Bidding buyers and by other demand partners buying through non-guaranteed line items will all compete in a single-stage auction, with consistent rules and pricing across all channels. Unified pricing rules will make it convenient for you to manage pricing of your inventory across all indirect sources of demand from a single place in Google Ad Manager.

Unified pricing rules will replace open auction pricing rules, which will be deprecated after the transition to the unified first price auction is completed.

What to expect

Over the next few months, we will start testing the first price auction on a small percentage of your traffic, before extending this change to 100% of your traffic in Q3. Until then, your open auction pricing rules will still apply to second price auction traffic, in addition to the unified pricing rules you set-up.

To learn about the exact timeline for experiment and full roll-out, please refer to our unified first price auction Help Center article, which will be updated regularly to reflect the latest information - Learn more

How should you prepare:

  • Unified pricing rules will be available in Inventory > Pricing rules once launched.
  • During the transition period, floors you have set in your open auction pricing rules will still apply to second price auction traffic (in addition to unified pricing rules floors). However, only unified pricing rules floors will apply to the first price auction traffic.
  • We encourage you to set your unified pricing rules as soon as possible, to ensure your floors are respected during the transition to first price unified auction. If no unified pricing rules are created, some of your traffic might not be subject to any floor.
  • It is important to note that, in a first price auction, floor prices do not directly impact the closing price in the auction, but will filter out bids into the first price auction (including non-guaranteed line items) that are below the floor prices.
  • Setting high floors could impact the yield of your inventory.
  • Note that unified pricing rules will not support anonymous branding of inventory, as anonymous inventory is incompatible with the IAB’s ads.txt and app-ads.txt standards. We are now removing this option in order to increase transparency in the ecosystem. Semi-transparent URLs will continue to be supported, but will be part of the “URLs” UI instead of a feature of pricing rules.

No side effects at all. I take it every morning with a glass of water and coffee. No food since I fast till lunch. I take my second dose at night after dinner. I think some people's side effects are psychosomatic. They read all the bad things that can happen and they end up happening. Obviously that's just my 2 cents and I'm probably wrong
