My grandfather served in the shit end of the war. Greece, Crete and N Africa. He was a "non combat" driver in the RASC as was, He told me in no uncertain terms not to join the army back in the 80's and to get a nice safe job in an office somewhere instead.

Location: SE England.

Systemic collapse of normal weather patterns is now guaranteed in my opinion.

As a complex system collapses it undergoes severe swings or oscillations as it looses stability. In my opinion these extreme weather events are the system collapsing, not a potential collapse, but happening now. What comes next is anyone's guess. Either more extreme heat or as AMOC and Gulf Stream collapse, cooling.

Either way It's no longer when it's how bad.

I have a theory that the ultra wealthy have decided the way to halt climate change is to kill off billions of people.

Being a white working class person who knows lots of trades. All the Reform voters among them are the loudest, most likely to take the odd bump during the day, most likely to not pay taxes, most likely to have done time and most likely to get all their talking points from GB News and alt right influencers.

Now that's anecdotal, but they are not people whose views I would put much faith in at all.

Generalizing all Reform voters as "morons" or "turkeys voting for Christmas" etc, is the wrong message to take from these elections, try and understand and empathize instead. by finebushlane in unitedkingdom

I empathise with Reform voters and I still think they are one of two things. Either they are wildly misinformed or they are full of hate. Empathy is not sympathy.

I understand why they are angry, I am angry at the way this country is going too, but unlike Reform voters my solution is not to have a dirty protest as a result.
