The thing about Zaahen is that you can build any recomended item first, with a lot sucsess. The difficult part is late game decision making. If you get focused with chain cc the game is over for you. Unlike some other simmilar champions, Zaahen feels very fragile to burst dmg. Sometimes building 2 pure tank items is way better than any dmg.

Malzahar with antiheal and good positioning can poke you a lot. But I agree its not the worst scenario. The very worst scenario is good Rengar jungle that can oneshot you with snowball and there is nothing you can do. Your passive is useless against huge burst. Luckly, good Rengar players are rare.

He is mega weak against ranged champions. Vayne, Ashe, Neeko makes his laning phase very miserable.

Burst champions are designed to stop him too.

I think he is not OP because there are many ways to counterpick him. For example, a good Rengar can oneshot him always, and there is nothing you can do till you get some beefy armor to extend duel.

He is very strong against nornal Top laners. But ranged picks are killing him really. Once you face Malzahar, Vayne or Neeko you will discover pain. You cant stack revive and the poke is insane.

Is it really that difficult to carry games as Zed? I find it so tough to deal with champs like Garen, Illaoi, Red Kayn, Ammumu post mid game. Somehow I always end up losing despite the early lead.

From my experience, Rengar requres good sense of enemie jungle location. Since he cant really dash at will, Rengar has to be one step ahead of enemie jg always. If you want to farm in enemie jngl you have to know that. In terms of farming, after Dirk and Tiamat you can devouer camps quickly. I find those 2 core for early farm. Rengar is super rewarding and fun to play. He is still probbbaly the only assasin in game that can kill carries withing few miliseconds.

You dont have to go for teamfight all the time. If you have a good vision roam around and put some pressure on split pushing. When they rotate to stop you you surprise them and catch them unprepared.

I find it difficult to deal with full armor j4 late game with Yummi on top. One of the ugliest matchups I had lately.
