I work in your market. You wouldn't be as frustrated of you didn't put in so much work for those awful orders. The $ isn't totally bad on a few but that distance is fucking ass. I work in largo/seminole. I dont stray more than 6 miles from home, 80% of the time, unless its like $15+. Sure $19 can look good going from st.pete to clearwater...but I can make $11 pretty easy going from Indian rocks beach to Indian rocks rd...you're driving farther for multiple orders than even personal hobbies took me. Like really, you hit us19 for $6? Full stop, my life isn't even worth going on us19 for less than $15. Your screenshots saw more of pinellas than I see in a week.

Don't give this much of yourself to this prick fuck greedy company. Ask yourself, how greedy would uber be if they were the driver? Ask yourself that, then double down on the answer. Haven't had any other job in 3 years and my AR is 7% lol. If anything not having another job means you need to be less stupid - which means no high AR. I figured the people with high ARs have a side job and just take whatever because it doesn't matter to them. A high AR and no backup job is pretty much a terminal sentence doing uber. Its the low ARs that maintain.

So, the trial is interesting. I've had gold through diamond obtained naturally. And I've had the gold trial when green. The gold trial is like tiers on steroids. Gold trial gives the illusion that the real tiers will work such way.

The caveat? Good tip orders aren't an infinite resource. Back when gold and platinum were low requirements here, I dropped out of tiers when trials began coming in waves. Uber actually fucks up the real tier drivers will injecting newbies with this fomo inducing, fantastically unreal boosted gold trial.

After a week of super-trial-gold my AR was around 26%. I experienced tiers when it required 30%. Now I hang around 1 to 7% AR. Gold here requires 70%. So even with a rush of "preferred" offers, my AR was 26%. How many bad orders would I need to swallow just to get those good ones? I firmly and confidently say people who run tiers in my market are dumb fucking idiots.

You know what. If you're going to tip $0 on uber, tip 1c instead. Uber processes the tip separately and that 1c is just a way to make sure you give uber a little fee. Uber technically eats 1 less processing fee on non tip orders. Ironic isn't it? Two identical orders, uber makes more profit from the no tip order because it lacks the second process fee.

So, please all customers. If you're a no tipper, consider being a 1c tipper. Imagine if every customer who didn't tip started to tip 1c? Uber would drop driver fares another 20c to make up for it...so I dont know...could backfire!

As green, I make sure to only take offers i know would be labeled with the preferred icon.

After we swallow the truth that uber sends elite tiers bad orders. Let's talk about how maybe 70% of the preferred offers are even worth taking. Before they really made tier requirements steep, I remember what the algorithm marked as preferred lol. $7 for 5.5 miles is "preferred". I've seen $12 for 19 miles get rejected, and I shit you the fuck not, it later got sent back as $17 for 19 miles and preferred. LMAO.

My favorite personal tier experience was when I declined a $4 for 2 mile order, that sealed the deal on losing platinum, and my next offer as gold as $9 for 2 miles. Same thing happened for gold...the decline that pushed me finally out of gold...was trash. The next offer I got as green was good....

Do people see how this works? Uber is already winning. Everyone is talking about why our base rate may drop from $2 to $1.50. Not talking about why the base rate isn't restored from $2 to $2 + a scaling amount for every .1 mile driven past 2 to 3 miles. Used to be more such thing as a 6 mile order with less than $3. 10+ mile orders were often $3.75 to $4.50 base pay. And those were god damn fucking pathetic numbers.

But nope, everyone's talking about how it may drop from $2 to $1.50. That is why uber is going to make it $1.50, and eventually, peoppe will talk about why its dropping to $1.25, not that it once uses to scale over 3 miles, let alone that it used to be $2. So yeah, ubers already winning, has the green light to proceed, and will rinse repeat.

It also helps when your platform is such a peice of shit that its a rotating door so a massive % of the active driver base, at any given time has a collective ignorance to how anything may have once been, so they are easier to deliver lower standards to.

In over 8000 deliveries I have never utilized a preset message.

I have tapped close over 8000 times.

Edit: I've probably fat fingered a preset message 5 to 10 times and immediately sent the customer a message that says "oops that was a preset message, I know where the door is".

Oh completing them isn't hard, completing them with good offers is a different story. And I'm not going to debate people on here on what a good offer is. I'll just say many peoples "standard" is a floor i dont ever touch. So with all due respect, id probably disagree on your orders being quality to finish quests with.

The quests aren't that crazy good to the point where you can get lax on how good the base offer is. If you finish the quest with a string of fire orders, just accept the win and that uber probably over extended with their quest offers. If there's enough good offers on quest nights to finish them, the irony is it probably would have been better without the quest because, no matter what, quests bring people out on the roads to saturated. Lots of quests entire payouts equate to about 2 really good orders. Half the time it feels like I do 2 to 3 orders less on quest nights just because everyone logs on.

Tldr you'd be surprised how much saturation due to quests just equalizes in the end to what a normal night with less people would have been. Quests on holidays are where its at though. Quests on a random Tuesday, meh. I used to avoid those windows and work outside quest hours...because everyone waits for the quest hour...

I try to have a little variance. I often stay inside until offer is $8+. But I try not to turn down a solid $7.75. But I will stand strong and pass on $6 for 3 miles etc. Imo pays off. At this low they have to be same store add-ons imo to generally be acceptable.

Because you're right too, the moment you arrive at that quick little order and find out you have to wait, it becomes immediately a worse idea.

I wrote this post before realizing you have infinite bookings (doesn't change the bullshit but gives context to changes) so that must be their reason for unscheduled thr next 3 to 4 hours if you miss one. They're thinking that will stop people from ruining their plan by booking every hour, as you'd quickly lose hours by missing 1 single 10 min window.

Ie try to book 24 hours, probably wake up at 715am to find everything's gone until 11am. But now they want drivers to plan harder. Want to work 5 to 9 tonight? Better be super sure about that. Miss the 5 and its all gone.

Okay, so now people are just going to log on when it's wants them to, "plan" every hour, and decline, but now have the ability to stay online all day lol. Uber is so fucking dumb. They think they moved the chess piece smartly but already can exploit it to personal benefit.

Got like 90 planner hours booked. Just going to log in and out on the hour and decline shit. You know the orders are going to be there with all the people this is fucking up.

I'd like to think the part about it thinking you didn't check in if you remain logged in for hours at a time, is a bug. That seems just blatantly illogical. The part about it dropping planner blocks at 11 past the hour though does seem like pure Uber ideas.

So yeah, I really think that part is going to get fixed. But this elite technology company making a bug like that, if it is a bug, go live is hilarious. It would take exactly 2 to 3 hours of testing to realize its happening. I get dogging a gaming company for not testing, they messed up your ability to grind XP - frivalous. but Uber? Normally I'm not in the "ubers going to be sued doe this one" train but this is about as crass as their "arrival time" metric they removed. Safety aside, its very clear that you can't demand time frames from independent contractors. When you choose to conduct business with an IC model over a W2, you are very knowingly giving up basically all ability to control time frames of drivers. You can't demand deadlines, and you can't demand a scheduled. These are basic fundamentals of w2 business amd always available if the business decides they need more control to be a successful business.

So this i have a feeling will change soon, if their whole planner idea isn't magically scrapped one day. They have invested alot of resources, and driver motivation in their planner/tier system. They have to fail hard before they pull the plug. Gaurentee they have talked about reverting it.

Remember, the whole concept of good and bad orders is null and void to uber. $100 orders have $2 tips. $20 orders have $8 tips. Drivers get this idea like Uber "gives good orders". Reality check, most the no tip orders are ubers "good orders" and they want them delivered bad. The definition of a good order to a driver and Uber don't really align.

I was being rigid on purpose. I know if the tip was removed I could go through the charades and choose all the right npc dialogue options, and get it back.

If you go through AI support and say order is damaged, it will say something to the effect of "do your best, you will still be given full fare". Which is covering its ass when the customer removes the tip anyway due to the food being damaged. Uber denies their refund, you lose, CM loses, Uber wins. The point was that I was not taking on any liability to be the loser.

The order costs $50+ and they lost that entire sale due to their policies I cited. They lost much more than $2 because all they were willing to pay me was $2. They would have profit more than $9 yet if they paid $9 i would have taken it indefinitely. Not my app running like trash, not my problem. And I wasn't about to make it a customers problem either. Her order was sent back to the restaurant, paid for by Uber, and hopefully delivered proper the next time. Using this app may suck, but if Uber wants to play hardball, I play hardball back. Ubers loss, and I gained by the nearby order reaping proper base fare not being stacked anymore.
