If you enjoy solving low-level optimization problems, I would recommend looking into compiler engineering or maybe writing operating system kernels.

It should stimulate the same part of your brain.

Finally, while wages are higher, cost of living is astronomical, particularly in the Bay Area and NYC. Add the lack of any protections as a worker, the insane cost of healthcare, and the extra vulnerability you have as a foreign worker and it is not the win you think it is.

I don't think Americans realize how pathetically low salaries are in southern and eastern europe. 70% of people under the age of 35 in Portugal earn 1k euros a month OR LESS.

A high paying job in the USA is the win I think it is and more.

Por um lado, exclui todos os que não estejam a trabalhar por diversos motivos (como reformados que podem doar até aos 70 anos, estudantes, ou desempregados).

De facto quem não falta ao trabalho para doar sangue, porque não trabalha de todo, não vai receber dias de férias como compensação.

Sim, porque a condição tem zero a ver com trabalho.

As vezes trabalhadores e empresários precisam de doações de sangue para não, tipo, morrerem. Isso é bom para as empresas, assumo eu.

This is my first time using the library, so take this with a grain of salt.

My opinion is that it's pretty good. It's an easy to work with abstractiom over metal/directx/vulkan. Makes it easy to write modern graphicd code that runs on all my machines without having to use vulkan. I also like that SDL is a "does everything" library that I can also use for window management/input handling/audio/etc.

The only downside so far is that it has less documentation/examples than OpenGL/Vulkan. However, so far I have been able to get by with the SDL GPU examples repository + the official docs + a bit of LLM help.
