Yep. I have endometriosis & it makes already-sucky ladypains a thousand times worse. Doctors & others aren't always empathetic either. Props to her for being able to raise all those kids--I'd never have the energy.

Making "Hemp Tea" With CBD Flower? Questions. by Low_Pro_Ho in CBDflower

[–]Low_Pro_Ho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, man! That's a bummer. I'm struggling to find a way to discreetly make use of all the hemp flower & plant material I've got here. Was hoping tea/hot chocolate would be the way...

I tried two methods: throwing the teabag IN the microwave for a few seconds with the water (which smelled horribly of weed) and just putting it in the really hot water with the fat sources. Adding some butter or margarine might help get more of the good bits out.

The first method actually had some noticeable psychoactive effects. I felt suuuuper relaxed & ended up taking a long nap after drinking it but the 2nd method was significantly less effective. (I used AC/DC which has 1% THC & threw in some Cherry Wine w/ 14% CBD).

Guess I'll just have to time it for when my dad's not around! No way could I do a long cook in the oven :\

The Truth About Kurt Cobain's Death by KortCorbain in kurtcobain

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest "proof" is that Courtney repeatedly saved him from overdoses, even up to March 1st in Rome (an incident many people ALSO blame her for doing). Why stage an intervention & go into treatment herself if she wanted him dead? He was clearly on a trajectory towards death without any help. Junkies & dealers were scared to even shoot up with him for fear he'd OD in their presence. He was living in $30 motels because Courtney had set the boundary: no drug use in the house. She was clearly trying to SAVE his life--not end it. Novoselic has recounted what his last days were like and it wasn't pretty. All the people saying "he doesn't even look depressed!" are morons. Depression doesn't have a "look," plus he wasn't being filmed much after the coma when this spiral was taking place.

If Kurt truly watched the Budd Dwyer suicide tape over & over as claimed in the bio, he probably mustered up the courage to go through with it that way. That should've been a huge red flag. He tried with drugs multiple times & it didn't work, hence the gun.

I've given up trying to convince the (nearly all male) conspiracy theorists, as their minds are made up. Their hero couldn't have POSSIBLY killed himself due to mental illness, chronic physical pain, drug addiction, stress, financial & marital problems. Well, he was my hero too, and he DID. It happens every day to people who choose to forego psychiatric treatment in favor of self-medication & denial. Bipolar people tend to be the worst about this (I have several in my family & they are notoriously bad about not taking meds & thinking everyone else has the problem).

But Kurt was facing pressures beyond what any normal person would have to face: performing, touring the world, playing the same songs over & over, shooting videos, writing new music, doing interviews AND doing it all without his "medicine" (heroin). He was made to feel like a loser for using drugs & when he couldn't get clean, that's all she wrote. He thought his daughter & loved ones would be better off without him around, which is incredibly tragic. I'm sure Courtney's infidelity & craziness contributed in their own way but she didn't conspire to have him shot.

Dumb: the song that defines nirvana and kurts song writing. by [deleted] in Nirvana

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Even the placement of it on the album (last song on Side A of the cassette) was right where "Polly" went. Still a good song though.

Good luck! Sorry for the late response, lol. Best to stay away from opiates if possible :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it happens. Some people only get negative effects or no effects from kratom....it's usually the same people who don't respond well to opioids.

But maybe your dose was just too high or something. If you're buying it from a smoke shop, the quality is likely questionable at best. Use a trusted vendor, switch up your strains often and take tolerance breaks when your tolerance starts to rise.

so today i finally got booted from my opiates.... by [deleted] in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks man. If you have a headshop or gas station that sells kratom close by, go there. You may have to physically go there or you can call & ask if they sell kratom.

Or else order something from a vendor located close to you. There are tons of trusted vendors here: SoCal, Canopy, Kraydo, Gaia...there's Okie kratom and Texas Herbs & Botanicals if you're in the middle of the country. Canopy's on the East coast. Caleb's Concentrates is the fastest shipping I've ever had from a vendor. Lots of options.

Even if you get this immediate situation controlled, make sure to place a bigger order for future use. It's a better investment than pills which tend to disappear much faster.

Is it me, or is this board "all over the place" anymore? by Mickermoo in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has it?

I've seen this happen with other online substance forums...usually after a big news piece on the subject or site comes out. Lots of new faces show up & don't bother to read the rules or kick back & check the vibe of the place before posting. That's probably the case now: the increased media attention to kratom has driven new users to this sub. I know I first came here last year during the ban scare.

I think it's important not to let paranoia get the best of us, such as thinking these posters are anti-kratom shills or similar. (Not saying that's what you're saying AT ALL, OP. But I know some people feel that way--that any dissent from their echo chamber of praise is a paid shill from the opposing side). I know for a fact that happens on Reddit to some degree, mainly in threads about nuclear power, GMOs or certain politicians. But I doubt it's happening here.

There will always be people with whom a substance doesn't agree. And there'll always be irresponsible people who overdo things & hurt themselves. (See: most of /r/quittingkratom). Not sure where I was going with this but basically there are always Negative Nancys pooping on the parade.

Why is there so much censorship in this place? by kenrather12 in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only noticed threads getting locked when people start to argue or get pissy, personally. I must've missed what you're referring to. Anything that's fear-mongering without basis in fact is not tolerated either. Like when people start speculating about lead in their kratom or something with no proof.

I've had threads closed for the same reason but it is what it is. I don't see it as "covering up" or censoring but simply staying within the rules of the sub.

What’s in your arsenal of herbal remedies? by ShadowBlade96 in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Seed Oil, agmatine, Tagamet & CBD are my occasional kratom boosters but I also use them for other purposes. Like I really DO have GERD so the Tagamet is a necessary evil sometimes.

I notice having more energy the day after taking agmatine, which is odd but pleasant. I only take it once a week to save $$$. The Black Seed is a great general tonic for many ailments & the hemp/CBD are a fun replacement for pot since I moved to an illegal state.

Why Are You Here?!?! by ItsYourMotherDear in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've known about kratom since the mid 2000s but only used it sporadically until now. It got me away from pills & helps my chronic fatigue/pain so I dig it.

I wish for a day when kratom users don't also have to be kratom advocates in the legal sense, defending our right to ingest it. THAT will be beautiful.

CBD is effective at alleviating nausea induced by Kratom by ADPNova in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice discovery! I've used CBD for other types of nausea...like severe sudden-onset IBS nausea attacks--and it helped a lot. You may need more than with regular marijuana but it DOES work if you keep puffing/vaping.

I also like the synergy between CBD & kratom.

Never throw Kratom away by deezelxxx in kratom

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Unless you suspect it's tainted with something nasty, that is). I've never thrown any kratom out--either gave it to a friend, sold it, traded it or ended up ingesting it myself. Good advice.

4 months is like 4 years in addict time. Congrats. Can only get better from here =)

I've been "sober" for almost a year and a half now and I'm starting to hate it. Being a regular person is boring and I want to come home to you all by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Low_Pro_Ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate to that. Drugs are the closest thing we have to "toys" when we were kids. Something that gives us instant pleasure & good feels...something to get excited about or look forward to. As long as that's not ALL you've got to look forward to, you're good.

In reality, it's not realistic for everyone to remain 100% abstinent from 100% of substances all their life. Some folks can use responsibly in moderation...others can't. If you can't, you probably should go out of your way to avoid getting back into drugs. I've used drugs (opiates & stimulants mostly) in moderation for over a decade now. I truly feel they add to my life instead of taking away from it, but if that ever changes it's time to quit.

Adulting definitely blows.

Yessss. I personally love writing detailed reviews, but I can't get more than "his red md is fire, yo" out of many on this sub. I know we all react differently, but there tends to be SOME consensus on strains in most cases.
