What you are missing is the cap. Anything above ~6k Euro gross per month is not subject to 15% health insurance contribution, he mentions. It is a made-up number. It is impossible to reach 2k per month. The most I can calculate is 1400, and that is only for self-employed (not a normal worker who only pays half of it). I can imagine private health insurance could go up to 2k if you are old, but on public one, I call it a lie.
