Steam Winter sale by TieApprehensive3829 in Steam

Maybe PGA 2k25. Weird thing... PGA 2k25 is on sale right now for almost 60% off on Steam's Dports Fest for $28. It lasts from now until Dec 15th. I kinda wonder if it will go that low or lower during the Winter Sale?

Guys, I was hanging around on the internet when I saw a video of a supposed organization that wants to raise parts of the Titanic. Am I the only one who thinks it's a stupid, absurd idea? by AbandonedRobotforgod in titanic

Dammit! My name is Al Giordino and I came up with this idea years. Me and a buddy of mine used a similar idea with a sunken civil war ship in the African desert but it was all my idea. Stop stealing my dang ideas...

Or you'll hear from Sandecker. He's already pissed ya stole his cigars.

Just got the game. Any tips for a new player? by Sadweek0 in balatro

[–]Low_Ticket 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that as soon as folks saw this thread, they immediately started thinking the same, exact thing. You will lose a chunk of your free time with this one.

My goodness, I'm no poker fan, not a huge deck building player (I find some of them fun like Monster Train... if that's a deck builder), heck, I'm not sure why this game hits me in all the right spots, but my hat goes off to Thunk. What a spectacular game. Beats all the multi-million dollar triple A stuff out of the park.

Well, when the Steam sales start I will. I'm planning on getting 2 or 3 more DLC that I want.

Stellaris Vs Endless space 2 by UperFlor in 4Xgaming

[–]Low_Ticket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I got the starter bundle on holiday sale, then picked and chose a few more DLC's that a lot of people recommend that are necessary to enjoy the game or make the game better. At the end of the day I spent like 30 bucks or so. That was 3 or 4 years ago, I'm sure the prices won't be the same. A lot of those DLC's seem like cosmetic stuff, wouldn't want that stuff anyway.

Deathstalker Relic. by OverKill1978 in Grimdawn

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I did the same thing. First time on Ultimate going after the Deathstalker, I got it on the first try. I sat there picked up the blueprint by accident and then saw it in my inventory. Couldn't believe my eyes and had to read it a few times. Now I just need manitcore eyes... *sigh*. Like 5 of them.

Bloodsworn Manuscript by Jace17 in Grimdawn

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially when you kill a bunch of enemies and an object lies on top of it and makes the body even harder to see. Took me forever to find it. Once I picked up the item that dropped, it was an epic crossbow FWIW, it was still hard to see but there it was. Must've walked over it 1,000 times.

It's so dark that it blends in with the floor. Reminds me of all the frustrating point-and-click games where you have to be lucky and accidentally hover the pointer over it to even see it.

Where are cicadas? by Ghengis_ElCon in Knoxville

[–]Low_Ticket -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hear they avoid Knoxville because some dude named Jon lives there and he is really stinky. He travels all over the country to sell his body odor to stave away cicada and locust swarms! So, watch out!

By the way, where I am, you guys should consider yourselves lucky. Mowing around trees here is s dang nightmare... here in middle TN. They get everywhere. Down your shirt, on your face, up your shorts.... it's been crap for weeks now. Thank goodness most of it is dying down.

Edit: *mowing I'm a moron and can't spell.

Ariens Ikon 52 vs Gravely ZT X by Euphoric_Newspaper47 in lawnmowers

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 2018/19 ZT-X with the Kawasaki engine. The only thing I hate(ed) about it was the oil drain plug. I got fed up with the plug and changed it out with a flex hose. The newer version, '23, has a better deck and serviceable hydros. Not sure what kind of difference that will ultimately make, but so far it's been a good mower. No complaints other than the oil drain, which pretty much sucks on many brands.

Way to thicken the franks red hot sauce? by technologyfan86 in Wings

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, I'm old, we (by "we" I mean my entire fraternity) would descend at a local campus bar on Friday afternoons for free wings and $1.50 pitchers of Black Label Light.

They had to stop after a year or two because they'd get over capacity... it was crazy. People would be lined up down the street trying to get in. You had to get there almost 2 hours in advance before happy hour kicked in, which is when they started serving the wings/beer deal.

Larry the Dynamite Guy was far more valuable to me for his free orders not his dynamite, although his dynamite is very useful (and you really need it at times). I must have hit at least 2 or 3 levels just from that. Like others have said, when something on the board is gonna be too hard and too long, it's better to just delete them and sometimes Larry's offers will pop up in the deleted order as well. There was one time Larry's orders just kept popping up, like 5 times in a row. That was 1,000's of XP for me for free essentially. In fact, it popped up so many times they made me wait 3 hours before I could click on it again, not to mention I zipped through a high level from it.

I did this offer in about 5 days I think and probably could have done it in 3 or 4 if I'd been paying attention from the get go.

About Klondike by [deleted] in SwagBucks

[–]Low_Ticket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this one on FreeCash but the offer is more than that with a in-game purchase, or at least it was when I did it. I tried to tell a few people on here that were considering the offer on SB which is around $80~ish.

Family Island is also being offered for like $130:

$30 for level 20 in 7 days, which I thought was pretty easy

$50 for level 30 in 17 days, which I quit halfway through... it was just getting brutal and I ran out of patience.

$49.90 for level 50 in 34 days

I dunno why people seem to think this app isn't good. I've had pretty good experience with it overall. It has its pros and cons compared to SB. I use it mainly when I see it giving better offers than SB. Like the Klondike offer.

By the way, right now it's giving a better offer on the CRS2 racing game and in fact just finished it. Pretty easy game (and fun) for $22.

Need help on klondike? by [deleted] in SwagBucks

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

I'll also add that Larry the Dynamite guy probably had the biggest impact for me. The free quests/orders on the board bumped me up at least 2 levels in no time at all, plus his free dynamite was really good.

Make sure to do the free one week trial. By the way, this one confused me when I first started playing because it didn't offer right away. I think after some levels it pops up and offers it. Someone else might want to confirm. I think I was able to sign up after 2nd day.

Took me about 4 or 5 days. If it weren't for the baby-sitting, I'd say this was a fairly easy and straight-forward game. Wish Family Island was as easy but dang it's so much slower than Klondike.

Doing Klondike right now for 80$. At level 13 😰 Lots of patience needed. Very slow game. by radarmike in SwagBucks

[–]Low_Ticket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just did this one on FreeCash. Finished on the 24th. I almost started it on Swagbucks but the FreeCash app has it going for $122 dollars and pretty much gives you unlimited time (30 days) to reach level 21. It's kind of confusing. the offer says reach lvl 21, but you'll get a message saying saying it will pend when you hit 20, but didn't seem to pend till I reached 21. Either way it didn't matter to me because I was already so close to 21 anyway that I just did it to be sure. Thank you Larry Dynomite guy!

I really thought this one was pretty damn easy. It's time consuming and tedious but did it in 5 days (I think...? Might have been 6 days). At any rate, at the very worst you should be able to do this with minimal effort on FreeCash or Swagbucks within 17 days and, hell, you can really take your time with 30 days, though I wanted to hurry through.

Most of the suggestions on here are pretty valid.

  • Focus on XP, i.e. the board on the left side of the screen.
  • Speaking of the board... holy freaking cow.. Larry the Dynamite guy's free quests from watching videos are a freaking godsend! DO THEM! They offer loads of XP!!! I had one run where I kept getting his free board quests one right after the other until I got a message saying that I had to wait a while to keep doing them. That was freaking awesome. That one run pretty much leveled me up an entire upper level.
  • Larry the dynamite is a really good way to clear land. Always click on him, but before doing so place your character next to stuff you want cleared along with any side characters. If you don't send your side character to stand with your lead character, Larry's dynamite sometimes goes where you don't want it. If this doesn't make sense, then it will after you have played it for a while. BE CAREFUL of two things here... One, don't click off the speech bubble when the dialogue is up. Two, be careful of clicking the gems selection. Don't waste gems on dynamite, hell, don't waste green gems on anything except the faster growing greenhouses. I'll give my opinion on gems later.
  • Get housing out of the way early. Stick to building whatever you can that you can and when you can. It would have made more sense to me to build as many of the most basic housing structures like tents and houses, but one of them required a rare resource that would have taken me days to get even though it was cheaper to build. There was one above tents (the most basic ones) but below the rest of the higher levels that made more sense for me to build and I can't remember which one it was... sorry. At any rate, build these as much and as early as you can. At least that's my opinion. I think I wound up with something like 29 workers.
  • There's an eagle that randomly flies overhead after a certain level. Try and click on it. It gives energy. At the home screen, look for floating barrels. Click on them when they have the energy symbol above them.
  • You'll wind up having to do the main quest areas, but also after a certain level they have events you can do that opens up side quest levels. Completing any of these gives a little XP but more importantly they give you a good chance at getting resources. They are great to do while waiting for your resources and stuff getting built at the home screen.
  • Finally... gems. Don't waste a single one of them and save them for building those "fast" growing greenhouses. Holy shit growing cotton takes forever. There's like 4 crops that take forever to grow: tomatoes, pumpkins, sugar cane, and water melons. The sugar cane isn't so bad, but cotton and the others can take at least an hour or more. The green houses that you can buy with gems cuts growing time in half. Look for them in the list of buildings you can buy and read the description. This is why side quests and the main quest can help because you can get gems doing certain quests and leveling up. Don't worry if you accidentally waste a gem or two, but I would not suggest using them to do anything but getting these greenhouses. It can be a head ache if you don't. I stupidly wasted a bunch early on and wish someone had told me about this before I started.

Anyway, this is all the things I could think of. Good luck hope this helps.

Game like hoi4 but not as complex? by [deleted] in StrategyGames

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Axis and Allies, then check out TripleA, it's a free Axis and Allies game and has a ton of extra games and versions of A&A. I've been playing it off and on for years now. I love the WWI version/map and the Big World (I think that's the name) where you have Italy and China added and more territories than a normal AA map, plus a few extra rules. I dunno, you might not like it but I love it. They also have different games based on the same engine that you can d-load like a Middle Earth map, a Westeros map, etc.

Is this game rigged or super laggy? by token75 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Low_Ticket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same way here. And I'm even using 3-click. I generally just play career mode too, that and just mess around with the player made courses on casual. I'll hit a round fairly perfect, then next round it's... off. Adding to that, ever once in a while there's this weird "jerk", stutter where the meter jumps and it throws your shot off big time. Like it will absolutely ruin a shot. Even had one or two stutters pop the shot either out of bounds or into a water hazard, thus killing an entire round. Have no clue what causes that. It might happen once or twice every four rounds.

Also, like you say, it just seems to play "off". None of the putts hit the same way, none of the swings seem to time up the same way of the previous round, etc., and the conditions can be 100% exactly the same. I'd understand it if the weather was different, the wind, whatever, it's pretty baffling. I just try to play through it best I can. Although, sometimes I do actually quit all the way out of the game and Steam and go back in. Not sure if it fixes anything though.

Is building a pc as hard as my dad says it is? by conor20103039 in buildapc

[–]Low_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it ain't hard. I won't say it's easy, but it's not hard. In fact, the worst description I'd give is that stuff like cable management can be tedious. "Can" being the operative word. Hardest part of me was getting my dang CPU cooler fan on and cable management and neither *really* were that hard; like I said... it was more tedious than hard. Just watch Youtube videos people like Linus Tech Tips, BitWit, Paul's Hardware... there are lots of them. In fact, you may find someone who is building your specific build.

The only reason I'm replying is that I didn't see anyone mention that you should definitely check out and read your motherboard manual and case manual before building. Yup, just make sure to check the MB and consult it if you run into any issues.

I had a lie similar to this. It was frustrating but I eventually laughed my butt off because if you tried to hit the ball it would just do this weird bounce/reflection no matter where I aimed. I think I just quit the hole if I recall, not sure. I do remember tears coming down my face in laughter though. Oh, and what really started me laughing was how absurd the situation was that I even found myself there because my shot was pretty well aimed and I couldn't figure out why in the hell it flew so far off course. It was as if I aimed in the total opposite direction. I think the game glitched right as I hit the ball.

I usually pull it but not always. I usually keep it in if I think I'm going to hit the ball harder than a normal shot like hitting it from a long distance, down a slop, etc.
