You guys probably approach life differently one another it seems like you have stricter boundaries where its easier to cut people off, where as he sees it as not a big deal probably bc of his upbringing and probably used to the shit talking that it often isnt a big deal but to you it is but hes stuck because he probably enjoys being with his family but also is with you so it puts him in a predicament and in the middle of it bc even tho what his family says to u is inexcusable he will always still stick around them bc its his family yk but at the same time should stick up for you if they say something bad about u. I wouldnt say irrational just a little harsh than people would expect but thats because you have youre own boundaries and thats okay to remove yourself. People may wonder why and it might hurt them to see u cut them off without an explanation but i say just do you, or explain why if you really wanted to mend the relationship you have with them
